HQ is the thread to express your opinions on how things are run. We actually give members a LOT of latitude when it comes to that vs other forums where any criticism leads to a banning. I wish yall would take that into consideration before you post nonsense. Furthermore, there will never be anyone who has zero fanbase affiliations and thinking as such is delusional. The entire mod team is active, and there’s only a handful of people from “one fanbase” as yall like to say. We go through this every time there’s a new mod class. People make false assumptions and accusations, the mods do their best to weather it but it’s not fair to them, especially when many are attacked for something they didn’t even do. This is not journalism, there is no need to be “unbiased”. People can like/dislike who they want. As long as there adhering to our internal policies there is no problem. Some overzealousness? Absolutely. Which is the case with every mod class. But many of the things people are attacking them for is uncalled for and i’m going to start warning people for it.

Point 1: It’s okay to NOT defend her. Point 2: It’s okay to let people who were already looking for a reason to dislike her to be happy that they found something else they can drag her for. Point 3: It’s okay to criticize her for her opulent wedding and the bad optics surrounding it. Because if this wedding had been a private, intimate affair, no one would be none the wiser about who actually came to the wedding. Point 4: The father of Travis’ childhood best friend having REALLY disgusting ties to ICE is not Taylor or Travis’ fault no matter how many times you guys try to make it so. But… see point 3 bc that leads into point 4. Point 5: It’s valid for people to continue to be critical of Taylor’s silence on a lot because whether fans want to admit it or not, silence = tacit complicity for many people. And for someone who has always been quick to comment or issue a media statement or call out things she perceives as wrong, her silence re: this administration and their co-opting of her music and aesthetics is saying a lot for many people. Point 6: It’s also very possible that even if she said what people wanted her to, she’d still get hate for not doing enough, because, again, for many this criticism is performative virtue signaling because they already hate her. Multiple things can be true at once.
