I absolutely love the melodies and production on first listen and there's a few lyrical highlights, she's 3/3 to me and I can't to listen to Virgin next week 

I jusr can't connect with anything from this album, it all feels like she's trying too hard to be "cool". I might cancel my pre order.

Ok, this song (the best one she released from Virgin so far) confirms my main issues with this era: first, it feels like she's trying too hard in recreating a vibe and a sound that clearly doesn't belong to her anymore (as if Lana tried to remake Born to Die); secondly, I feel like her and the producer are almost competing with themselves to outshine the other. The production makes it hard to understand what's going on melodically, and I feel like the final result make it seems like she wrote the lyrics and melodies having no idea what the actual song would have sounded like.

you nailed it

I like it, but just like MOTY, the song feels unresolved.
 

Charli had short songs on BRAT, but none of them feel incomplete. 

 

Hoping things will make more sense once full album is out. 

I think I am a lorde stan because I love every album and I've loved every song from virgin so far 

 

idk I just feel like she makes music without really giving af what anyone else is making, what will do well or what is popular 

 

she just delivers work that feels very true to her at that time in her life 

 

I always just listen to her as if I'm listening to a diary

lyrics are fantastic. she's one of the best writers in pop 

It feels like the song is building up to something, but it never quite gets there. About halfway through, I was expecting a powerful climax, but it never came. I agree that it sounds incomplete.
 

Worried for Virgin, since none of the singles have really clicked with me right away
