Eartheater - 'Heavenly Body: If I'm The Bottle You're The Message'
i was only talking about sonic clunkiness. the first one sounds more like something out of a psychology book than song lyrics. the words require a lot of mouth movement, and there's no consistent line length or internal rhyme, which makes it sound awkward to the ear

In any other scenario, we're predisposed To viscerally recall the sting I know it was like ten million wasp stings Around my g-string But in my memory, it was the kiss of a butterfly wing I used to rule Sodom and Gomorrah before you came Got all my beans out before I conceived I'll never be a sour mum Used to be such a hornet To then wake up in your father's arms, an angel Frida said if a man wants an angel He's gotta make a heaven for her My baby's too big for my cervix, my body Doctor said he's gonna have to cut me open Grew up in a big family, big family Too big for the house, ripping at the seams Like a **** nun in a video, hungry for a feeling

she has a rare ability to link complex emotions to real life science and history, making them feel like natural laws rather than vague sentiments. this is why she's one of my favourite artists ever. but on this album, many of the lyrics feel clunky, disconnected, and even corny, the quality which I'd never thought I'd describe her work with. obviously, as a man, I'll never truly understand the experience of giving birth and being a mum, though this album does a great job of making me feel like I do. I can't truly immerse myself and connect to the songs the same way a true mother would, so I'm just going to pretend the lack of rhythm in the lyrics was on purpose to reflect the awkwardness of pregnancy, and not because she's washed

like what's the point of coming to tiktok and twitter when all you do is just announce ****, we could get that from any update account. terrible single choices, nothing burger voice notes, and when she does comment on the album concept it's still vague af. ugly mvs, not to mention times new roman font ... 'as little between us as possible' when it actually feels like there's more distance than ever. bring back emails ella
