  1. Yesterday, my bf invited me to have dinner with some acquaintances, there were around 10 gay men aged 25-30. I tried to be social and talkative, but there was a point where I simply gave up. They were SO loud. Everyone was basically talking-screaming over each other. They spent like an hour gossiping about people. I HATE gossiping. I always have, not even out of respect for the person being talked about, I just find it extremely boring, and my brain automatically disconnects. Then, every conversation somehow was about sex. I don't mind talking about sex at all, but it didn't feel mature. It felt like everyone was constantly trying to make jokes as if they were competing in a drag rae comedy challenge every time they opened their mouths. And they were SCREAMING, literally making pterodactyl noises every time someone said something "gaggy". I tried talking about music because madonna was playing in the background, but no one was interested for more like 3 minutes, so I ended up just talking to my bf. I tried bringing up cinema too, The Oddyssey, Obsession, the X-Men casting and again no one was interested to talk about it about more than a minute, the conversation always went back to "sex, when is the next party, hookups, gossiping, etc" My bf noticed that I was extremely uncomfortable, so he got me out of there. For the record, I'm autistic/asperger, and I've always struggled in social environments. I'm also easily annoyed by loud sounds I can't control. Over the years, I've learned how to mask, deal with groups of people, and "seem normal." At this point, I even feel genuinely comfortable around some people. But yesterday I just couldn't keep up the facade, I was visibly irritated by the time i got out of there. I have lots of gay friends, but I've never really been part of a gay friend group, and yeah, yesterday reminded me why. I feel like a lot of gay people have a different energy when you interact with them one on one. Like, you can actually talk and connect with them, whereas in a group, everything seems to become a joke or turn sexual and turn them extremely loud individuals, as if they feed into each other. I don't know if this is an internalized homophobia thing, or if I'm simply a more low-key person. Idk, has this ever happened to you to some degree? Any advice?
  2. Listening to RoL feels like listening to the cosmos. What a flawless and ethereal album
  3. No. Injust couldnt care less about other people and i hate all forms of gossiping
  4. With Madonna receiving renewed acclaim and reaching yet another creative peak at 67, more than 40 years into her career, can we finally say that she is the most creative and innovative artist of all time, even ahead of Björk, whose output after Vespertine has been mostly subpar (except for Vulnicura) Discuss!
  5. Haven't listened to it yer, but streets are saying this is better than part one, can anyone confirm?
  6. She is and it's not even close. Her debut album is the best-selling album of all time in Asia and she has sold over 50 million records throughout her career. She is one of the most acclaimed, influential, and commercially successful japanese artists ever. You are just racist and incapable of recognizing impact unless it comes packaged in english and filtered through white western lens. Embarrasing
  7. The fact that you reduced one of the most legendary and acclaimed artists of all time to a "Charlie Puth collaborator" shows extreme ignorance and racism. Get educated
  8. Considering Gaga is heavily influenced by two of the astists i mentioned i think it is!
  9. I wasn't. I'm just less active because life's been busy lately, finishing my master's degree, working on lots of personal projects, recently started as an AI engineer at a startup, having a cute boyfriend i spend lots of time with , etc… But yeah, I still come here from time to time
  10. My top 3 female artists are Kate Bush, Björk and Utada, so my taste is pretty tasteful i think
  11. Does her? And if you agree, why do you think this is happening? Discuss
  12. My parents are both non homophobic. My father even fought for human and lgbt rights during Spain's Franco dictatorship and he was jailed for that.
