i need the little ellaphants to be real cause this is literally the melodrama formula it literally builds up and up until the "explosive release" and then fades out, uses the same sonicscape with piano chords, synth topline and 808 crunchy beat. in fact this one sounds even more melodrama-y than what was that.

i just love seeing this happen when the little virgins can NOT stop talking about lana's music being a rehash and lorde is already reheating her 2017 nachos on her 4th alboom because she got shipped back when she pivoted :sabrina:

and the mass downvotes are HILARIOUS :bibliahh:

still a cute song though let me buy a virgin vinyl

The way 60% of pop songs in the world rn sound like Melodrama lmaoooo

Hammer is dance/electronic and Melodrama isnt like that at all :rip:

i don't remember a single melodrama song with that kind of experimental drop :giraffe: maybe stanning someone who actually released the same songs over and over again does that to people's mind :suburban:

I guess listening to Lana songs on repeat could really damage someone's ability to differentiate sounds :rip:

Much, much better than the previous two. I still believe it could be 5+ minutes.

I'm not really into this streaming era logic that songs should be short so they can go easily viral, and these three singles definitely don't benefit by being that short.

Anyway, this is the best single out of 3, hope the album is in this vein.

Hammer is so good omfg my first listen :jonnycat:

THE VOCAL MELODIES AH i love her deeper voice sm

This is hands down her best single since Green Light

ngl after first listen it's my least favorite so far but still good, let me travel to new zealand once again

I don't think her making short songs have anything to do with streaming appeal. Since SP era Lorde has been saying she doesn't think she writes good bridges, so she basically stopped making them. Some songs rn don't even have a pre-chorus. So I guess that's why her songs are getting shorter.

I feel like there's something quite different with the mix/master this time. It's more focused on mid and high frequencies rather than bass. Love it so much! This song is a 10/10 for me.

About to listen

Hyped :clap3:

Not the AI receipts. Lorde lost credibility with AI when she threw her cellular device in the water, sorry

also jack anthony wouldn't have been able to make the drop in the chorus sound this crisp and engaging...

he would've probably used the same sloppy analog synth he already used a thousand times for taylor, sabrina… you name it.

well somebody pls send me a link!! i can't wait till midnight
