Finally a song that feels fully fleshed out, the previous singles really had me worried. I just wish there was more build-up to a bombastic final chorus, I've noticed that all these singles either just end abruptly or a bit too soon. But this is a much needed upgrade so we'll take the Ws whenever we can

She has been doing majority of promo for this era in the UK. All her radio interviews have been there, plus the London car park listening party, podcasts have alternated between AU and US, and she's done promo in Sydney like the club night appearance and her home country (Zane Lowe). I'd say UK is getting most of the promo since she's been residing there for a couple years now. US has had some promo early on with Washington Square Park but she's been spreading it out in different countries.

She lives in NY and was only in the uk for six months, she was quite specific about the six months too so I'm guessing she had a short stay visa

Both this and MOTY would benefit a lot from being stretched out. It's a cool concept and almost gets there but it never takes off, the synths sound good at first but then it just keeps repeating throughout the whole thing and it loses its charm, the song ends up feeling kinda flat.

 

It's almost as if Lorde and Jim were afraid to go there production wise, as if there was a worry about making these songs as short and palatable as possible, as if the Melodrama gays asking for more bops were looping in her head the whole time while she was in the studio and she couldn't let loose.

 

At least the lyrics are better on this one.

Am I the only one who cannot listen to this yet?

I'm loving this era sonically, I don't think it sounds like anything she has done before. 

"Don't know if it's love or if it's ovulation"

 

this lyric gagged me bad it's so good and unique compared to what other artists in the scene are putting out, and the album will probably have even crazier lyrics 

 

this makes me realize at Pitchfork etc ideally a woman should review this album instead of a misogynistic & biased x stan twink man to actually see the depths of it, ykwim
