Really really loving this. Like others said, this really feels like it's bringing the album into focus for me. It also feels like it's in direct conversation with Oceanic Feeling

Hammer is clicking for me now  And I agree with people saying they can hear Solar Power in these songs

just read the pitchfork track review last night before i knocked out and it's so much better than the other two track reviews  yeah, this is easily my fav song of the era so far, it's making me extremely excited for the full album! this song might end up on the same level as Green Light for me, it's brilliant pop perfection

Didn't LOVE "Hammer" on first listen but it's quite lyrics I can get get into.

actually I agree with this, for this project at least, and probably the same for Solar Power back then. It is most apparent here that in this particular genre she is going for, she would benefit from a full drop, as it seems the album works as a whole. 

 

The long drawn out campaigns only work if you are a singles-artist. Lorde has concept albums, they work solidly as one.

I don't see this being a big hit, she can't promote the video on social media without a shadowban, but the song is shaping up to be a discography highlight, the last chorus and outro alone are so good.

I know I was meh on this at first but it's growing to become my favorite of the pre-releases now. Can't wait for friday!

This song is so strange I don't really think is a single material and her spoiling the songs beforehand is not a good look, I'll wait for the whole album 

The way I already played this more than any of her songs since Melodrama  Super hyped for the album!

Hammer really connected the other songs for me, suddenly I really appreciate WWT and MOTY. Very excited for tomorrow!

sounds to me like she says "breath" instead of "wreck", which would make sense
