Hmm ok, I like it, but ugh, where are the choruses? I like the productions and instrumentals for sure, but I feel like this era the actual melodies and strong, big choruses are not really happening - in favor of these breakdowns...

 

Granted, WWT's was super mediocre while H's breakdown is better. But still, I hope the other 8 songs have catchy, memorable (or any at all!) choruses that you can sing to. 

 

Excited to listen some more tomorrow, though; I Wasn't hooked enough to extend my vacation in NZ

Well I don't believe that Lorde always works with that intention, but there are always labels behind them with budget and demands. Also, she has moved to US precisely for business reasons, easier collabs, promo, and whatnot. 

 

On topic, I think that a Hammer bridge could also be instrumental, not necessarily with more lyrics. Hammer is a very good template for soundscape expansion.

This is the best of the 3 singles thus far, however Melodrama remains unbothered.
