This is the best of the 3 singles thus far, however Melodrama remains unbothered.

I see Jessie, I recognise taste.

We need to ban the word 'Lana' from this thread

Wait I love this one. Could tell it was with Jim-E Stack's production immediately & it fits well with Miss Lorde

This is DEFINITELY the best song of the bunch. Omg why didn't she lead with THIS

I feel like the back half of the album is gonna be way more experimental but this is amazing

As if the pressed little lordesters aren't the only ones who keep bringing her up unprovoked :ahh:

OT: Terrible song  1/3 so far of the songs we heard.

Also, she has moved to US precisely for business reasons, easier collabs, promo, and whatnot.

She has been doing majority of promo for this era in the UK. All her radio interviews have been there, plus the London car park listening party, podcasts have alternated between AU and US, and she's done promo in Sydney like the club night appearance and her home country (Zane Lowe). I'd say UK is getting most of the promo since she's been residing there for a couple years now. US has had some promo early on with Washington Square Park but she's been spreading it out in different countries.

You're the one that camped on this thread to **** on the song. Don't act surprised that people are clapping back. The gaslighting by her second fanbase is hilarious.

hmmm, my least fave so far. I like the wall of sound approach and the production is unique, but it leaves me completely cold.

What's your favorite?

yep, sorry, my bad, UK, but still the same reason. (for some reason I was convinced that she lived in the US cause of WSP video)

Please leave this thread and stop mentioning Lorde if you don't like the song. Are all Lana Del Rey stans this insufferable?

OT: SOTY! Can't wait for next week! Hopefully my vinyl comes in before Friday

Man of the Year, it really resonated emotionally, I loved the songwriting and the production was perfect for the song it needed to be.

I might have been born again
I'm ready to feel like I don't have the answers
There's peace in the madness
Over our heads, let it
Carry me uh-uh-uh-uh, on

The chorus is so mesmerising.

YES!!!!!!!! It's still my fave too, but I really loved Hammer as an intro, maybe her best to date

I felt quite the opposite personally. MOTY took a while to get to the breakdown and the payoff was very short. It could've used an extra minute to flush things out with the production.

My Ranking:

1. Hammer

2. Man of The Year

3. What Was That

My ranking

Hammer

What Was That

Man of the Year

I really like the approach where the chorus/melodies take a backseat and there is a stronger emphasis on the production. I hope the rest of the album is more in the vein of this song.

Ok, I did listen again. Actually love every part of it as it exists, but it IS way too short - and a chorus would have really benefitted it (just like WWT). I genuinely don't understand what she's going for with these half-baked, quick-listen songs? Am I the only one? :weeps:

Excited to keep listening regardless :noparty:
