this, like to actually had to SLEEP outside Stade de France the night before the Chromatica Ball because of how crazy the gays were going for GA, even with early entry. which meant getting closer to her, etc

It is super common with big/viral concerts, i don't get the big deal? If they want to do that then that's their business,

As someone who wishes Maroon was rock, this isn't exactly what I want to sound like (too emo) but you can hear how it's BEGGING to go harder into that territory. I think it should be a pitch higher too. The actual track is fine but it has so much empty space in it which dulls the impact. She should've had Ariel Rechtshaid to give it some Night Time, My Time flavor.

My friends and I will be heading to the stadium in a couple of hours.  I prob won’t be on ATRL any more today but I’ll pop on tomorrow and share my experience! 

I feel like in quiet moments she laughs to herself over the mammoth record-shattering success of Midnights, knowing she didn't have to try that hard making it  

 

Like she didn't even have to faux-brand it as another artistic reinvention (besides the photoshoot making it seem like she was about to serve her Rumours). She didn't even refer to it as a pop (or any genre) album. She just gave it a light lyrical theme that she barely followed, stayed firmly in her wheelhouse of Antonoff-y pop, file dragged some cutting room floor leftovers and some extra Aaron tracks she spent a few days on to release as a deluxe, and it obliterated everything in its wake.

Daily reminder that Midnights is a carefully crafted, cohesive, front-to-back listen chamber pop masterpiece and her best pure pop album.

yeah she basically didn't need any narrative for this album.

 

It was only about "how this is gonna sound?".

 

she always ends who tries to minimize her success.

 

first you read "she sells more album than other pop girls cause country artists sell more albums". She went pop and it was the 2nd biggest pop album of the decade.

And it's the most streamed album 10 years after.

 

Then you read she doesn't go political cause everyone loses fans with that and she would crumble. She made it and she repeaked.

 

Then you read "she only write about the ex boyfriends to get hype". And lover wasn't that and Folklore and evermore are still streamed after 3 years without pop hits and almost any biographical songs.

 

Then she needs enemies and controversies to sell an era. Midnights made big numbers without anything.

 

All of these things in the past of course has been a factor but the success of folklore or midnights shows people just love her now as entertainer and songwriter. 

To sell an album without anything if not people getting hype of how a record can sound because of a cover...what a songwriter can desire more?. 

And not her core fanbase, but the gp.

Notice how I didn't comment on the quality of the album in that post. It's obviously not a bad album. But within the canon, it stands out for the reasons listed.
