I'm a Swiftie but Taylor will never be as universally beloved as Dolly, you can't get as big as Madonna or Taylor unless you piss a bunch of people off on the way there. Dolly existed in the sweet spot of fame where people didn't put the weight of the world on her shoulders. (Even though Dolly carried that weight with so much philanthropy anyway, and Taylor knew that bc she donated to Dolly's charity earlier this summer)

Taylor is not the only one with access to album variants and play listing. Others take advantage of it too, they just don't have the demand. Sorry girl, we settled this years ago. Taylor is as organic as they come and that's what makes it so impressive. The streaming artists don't see her sales, the sales artists don't see her streams (and the "sales" artist of this century don't even see her sales either outside of Adele for 2 eras)

She debuted with 1M pure sales of Speak Now with only (1) edition of the album in 2010, before Gaga even had her one and only 1M debut in 2011 mind you. Yall can't use variants as an excuse when she's always been a pure sales monster in a manner that other pop girls can't even come close to

Colloquialism. Liberal and left are the same to people that aren't deeply invested in politics. I understand the difference matters, but when discussing right vs left, liberal & conservative act as colloquial stand ins for the average civilian.

Anyway, OP: anyone that tries virtue signaling left or right online is annoying, I agree. It's all become a circus of self righteousness. Fans using politics to try and one-up the fans of other artists that aren't even MAGA, news outlets fanning the flames of an already divided world, and social media algorithms blatantly peddling propaganda meant to either indoctrinate or infuriate people has all become a circus. But then again, the heart of politics has always been "divide and conquer" so they're definitely winning that war.

Politics are so ridiculously divisive and this is yet another example of it
