There are other streaming platforms outside Spotify.

So are you now in contact with executives or managers at Apple Music who are feeding you inside information from Apple Music stats that aren't publicly released? Based on AM charts, Taylor's best performing albums are Midnights, then folklore, then Lover (without smash AOTGYLB), then Reputation, then evermore, and THEN 1989. I'm not sure how "other streaming platforms" are relevant to 1989 nearly outstreaming Midnights. Midnights and Lover are curbstomping everything else on Amazon. If you're counting YouTube as a streaming platform, then sure 1989 does disproportionately well, but the numbers there are miniscule in comparison and really don't contribute much to her total streaming figures.

if Jack is so bad then why did he produce the MASTERPIECE that is Maroon? y’all just love to hate the godlike producer for absolutely no reason :gaycat4:

And we will love him forever for this song. :jonny5:

Max Martin is the better hitmaker, but Jack serves more quality. If she’s aiming for hits, there are better producers right now than MM.

I guess you're using kworb numbers. 1989 is somehow counted as 1989 karaoke for some countries.

The whole point of Taylor and Jack working together is that they make gold. Jack's work with other artists is never as consistently excellent as his work with Taylor (and it's the same for Aaron).

I guess "barely" means that Midnights is doubling 1989's daily streams and will certainly continue to do so for most of the year. I just have to wonder what went wrong in your mathematical education for you to reach such false conclusions while doing basic arithmetic.

The way they’re just proving that they have nothing to rely on besides, literally, fake news :deadbanana2:

OTHs aren’t the only one Midnights’ slayage has done a number on. But then again, if you hate the most important producer to her career, you might as well be an OTH because it’s truly wondrous why someone like that would stan her. How is it even possible that people can hate Jack while being a Taylor stan [2] :rip:

Just imagine wondering why DYKTATUOB is less successful than Midnights in the first place. :rip:

Be serious now

DYKTATUOB isn't as highly received as Midnights because Jack/Lana has gotten stale with time in a way that Jack/Taylor hasn't. People are consuming Midnights more than DYKTATUOB a) because it's pop music from a pop star, and b) because it's sonically distinct from Jack/Taylor's previous work, whereas DYK... (not writing it out again) sounds pretty damn similar to Lana's last two and a half albums.

And which "numbers" are you using? :gaycat7:

For what it's worth, I was actually using US AM charts, which I know are local to the US, but that's where like 85% of Apple streams come from so I figured it was representative enough of the global total

Well this is the entire question regarding reputation stans. They're obsessed with the album that is LEAST true to who she is as an individual and as an artist and often show great distaste for the albums that are MOST true to who she is and that best show off her strengths as a writer (ie Fearless/SN/Red/folklore). It makes one wonder if reputation-and-nothing-else stans can even be considered swifties.

Idk why it can never stop at “reputation is her best album” or “I loved the reputation era”. Always trying to push a fake narrative. First with Lover, now with Midnights

No Jack has BIGGER songs! Anti-Hero an instant classic something that Max did never achieve in his career.!

Jack's production is very inconsistent. Sometimes he produces some of her best masterpieces, but other times the production is just horrible (Paper Rings and Bye Bye Baby are notable examples).

It's the way you just keep creating new stories because you've got nothing to stand on. :rip:

Not a single fans here said that Jack is a bigger hitmaker than Max. Doesn't mean that Jack can't produce a hit songs and it doesn't mean Jack didn't produce some of her finest material.

This meltdown I swear. :rip:

All of this aside, it’s especially hilarious when you consider how the Rep-and-nothing-else fans happen to 99.9% of the time be Obsessed Jack Haters when he was on a good portion of the album… and demonstrated several instances of actual recycling there (Melodrama reduxes, OOTW —> GC being identical, and so on). That’s always the criticism hurled at him and why apparently he “ruined” Midnights. Whereas Midnights has a great handful of productions by him which are nothing like anything she’s done before, whether you like them or not. Same cannot be said about his work on Reputation :rip:

His best work with her is easily his stuff on folklore though, of course (I wanted to slash this out but the option isn’t available on mobile. Wyd ATRL?)

Is the one that I bolded supposed to be a drag? Artists should always push themselves so they don't get stuck and recycle the same things over and over again. I don't even have reputation in my top 3 cuz my top Taylor's albums are evermore, Speak Now and 1989, but reputation is miles better than Mid.

August is probably Her best produced sing... the outro clears everything... except ATW10's.. which He also produced. So.

the way he can produce so many masterpieces and fan favorites should be enough for us to like him. If he has a couple of duds is fine as well.

Pushing yourself to do something new and staying true to yourself are not mutually exclusive things. See folklore.

The greatest irony of all regarding OJAH is that the things they criticise the most about Jack/Taylor's work together aside from STF is best represented on Reputation :gaycat7:

The closest Midnights production comes to being a redux of anything earlier is when she literally sampled OOTW on Question

Jack has awful taste of vocal productions tho… The Archer sounded flat and bad, and he did the same thing on certain Midnights songs

You aren't a swiftie. Jack Antonoff can't make mistakes. He's a perfect human being.

No, I just don't think it's good for artists to sacrifice their integrity for trend chasing, something Taylor only ever really did with Reputation (and quickly backed out of). There's nothing wrong with trying new sounds and adventuring further from a musical comforting zone, but getting a Future collab or making industrial trap-pop in 2017 was really not a good-faith effort at musical growth from Taylor. It was trend chasing, and it should be criticised as such.

I can agree to this, even though he’s one of my favorite producers sometimes his mixing on vocals and the excess use of reverb can feel bland.

However, on songs like Dear Reader it’s amazing :jonny5:

You could make some arguments for SOTB being a bit folklore’d, or Labyrinth being a bit The Archer 2.0 as well (although Labyrinth, for me, is basically taking a great track which was TA and making it into something even better so no complaints here) :jonny:

Let’s just be glad that they ended the trilogy of pop songs with Cruel Summer though. Not that I don’t think all 3 (OOTW, GC, CS) are great, but it was time to stop doing that. Midnights gets a few extra points for that alone

Speaking of STF, that is their biggest dud ever. Cute melody of course, but you can tell it was a… starting point for him, as far as producing for other established artists goes. The mixing may be even worse than her songs with Nathan omg.
