I'm sure TS13 will be her next musical bible, joining Fearless, 1989, and Folklore as a new musical chapter. I'd love to see her work again with Jeff Bhasker (Holy Ground, The Lucky One), Catherine Marks (Boygenius) and Mark Ronson—the rock bible they could create together.

TS13 needs to sustain her commercial success and not serve a 25 to 30 tea.

Meanwhile this is the second album cycle in a row (and now it's worse since Olivia runs her whole show and fired most of her team, as she confirmed in an interview so it's all her doing) where Olivia allowed questions about this situation to be asked, only to give a nothingburger answer that makes it seem like she's Taylor's disgruntled victim.

That's a conscious attempt to damage Taylor's image for the sole reason that she benefits from the false narrative. I don't understand why you guys keep coddling that girl considering the amount of flack Taylor's gotten for something she did NOT do, and as I said, it's all because Olivia herself refuses to shut it down. Taylor can't even respond because nobody will believe her, seeing as she's being painted as the villain here.

There's also the creepy way she keeps following Taylor's every move (there's nothing wrong with that inherently as it's just an example of her impact), but then she denies her inspiration completely. But that's another topic for another day and not the main issue.

Taylor should start sending cease and desist letters to Greffen Records, enough is enough. If not, she should be the actual villain and call Lucien Grainge to blacklist those artists trying to damage her public image even further.

I wonder what the timeline on TSTV is going to be. Do we think she might post about it on the anniversary of Tim McGraw, or because that coincides with the Toy Story release, do we think that she quietly skips it but still uses the new song to set up and prep for that announcement and all? I know we literally got a new track a week ago - and more versions of it since then - but I'm just so excited for this re-recording.

My problem with that is that it requires multiple unlikely conditions to be met to be true.

1) Olivia, despite being a lifelong fan of Taylor, decided to give retroactive credits just so that she could damage Taylor's reputation and benefit from it.

2) Taylor cannot do anything about it, and I have a hard time believing the idea that Taylor, one of the most powerful figure of the music industry, couldn't do anything about it if she wanted to, even if not publicly. So she either doesn't want to fight it, or doesn't care enough to make this narrative go away. And if Taylor doesn't, why should we?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not out here calling for Taylor lashings. Absolutely not. But I also would really enjoy to be browsing the base and not having to read Olivia lashings either because I for one really enjoy seeing the one and true Taydaughter prosper, no matter the current state of their relationship.

I'm so grateful that we all enjoy the work of this artist who is so insanely, massively successful that no matter what happens or has happened, she's set for life to create, to give us more music and experiences to share, and more stories to enjoy. I wonder if discussion in the base might be better served by taking a breath to refocus on the work that she's done and will do. We just got an amazing new song - three versions of it, even - that seems like it's starting a new chapter. Maybe diving deeper into that and thinking about the possibility of what's next is the most constructive way to channel all the energy going on right now?

I like Olivia sometimes, but it drives me crazy how people will say that Taylor has a victim complex 24/7, but then they can't see through it with Olivia

She is 100% strategically quiet about the Taylor situation, just like she was strategically quiet about Sabrina Carpenter & Joshua Bassett in 2021. Both Sabrina & Joshua have talked about receiving harassment & death threats because of Drivers License, and Joshua was in the hospital at the time having to deal with this, but Olivia let it fester because it was propelling her career, and that is the context of why she is so famous today

Uhm. Those articles pop up because she and Taylor are, in fact, the only female artists to debut an album with 80M+ streams on Spotify. Taylor is the only one who has like five with over 120M+ so does it even matter that this article exists?

And there's been more discussion around the whole Taylor vs. Olivia situation lately because Olivia went on Popcast and The New York Times asked her how the Taylor Swift royalty drama made her feel. She refused to acknowledge it properly but judging by her body language during the interview, you can tell this still bothers her deeply. And that is her right to feel that way.

She clearly feels like Taylor's team/label took advantage of her with the deja vu credits. The media knows this, and they're hungry for this story because they KNOW it generates clicks. Thats why so many interviewers are alluding to it in her interview. They want her to give a response. If anything Olivia not acknowledging it and brushing it off works in Taylor's favor, cause she could easily spin it in a "Taylor is the villain" thing cause she knows its a bad look for Taylor.

I don't think it's fair to make that Olivia's fault. She's literally just releasing her album and doing standard promo.

I dont think its solely Taylor's fault, tho.

Taylor already deserved credits for the clear interpolation of New Year's Day on 1 step forward, 3 steps back. Someone on Taylor's team probably saw Olivia's RS interview, saying Cruel Summer inspired the bridge on Deja Vu and that way, they thought it was appropriate to ask for credits on that song as well.

There was never a lawsuit for it or anything, so Olivia and Dan didn't actively fight the idea of it. But I do understand how they could've felt pressured in giving the credits.

Since Taylor is known for championing artist's rights, artists taking ownership for their own work, and taking pride in being a songwriter, this was never a good look for her. We all know this.

Because this never got addressed properly, every time Olivia drops a new album people will bring up this story again, and again, and again. So until Taylor or Olivia say something about it, this weird dynamic between them will continue to exist (and likely only get worse).
