Probably a few days after, since Toy Story is dropping that day. I do hope she acknowledges it and does something special for Debut, I feel like a re-issue or a TV version would bring a lot more appreciation to the album.

I get being bummed about losing out on a competitive week because of additional media dropped during the week, but also, Taylor set the vinyl delivery window (22-24 weeks) when she dropped the album in Dec 2020. This was not in spite of Olivia, because at that point, Olivia hadn't even released Drivers License yet, let alone written the rest of the Sour album. It was the most competitive week the album was going to have after its initial run.

I always wondered how Taylor felt seeing someone that was clearly a fan build her career around being the "new Taylor Swift". A lot of people will deny it now, but back then it was pretty clear every one of Olivia's moves were "inspired" by Taylor in some way or another. I remember seeing a post about how her marketing team had studied Taylor's Fearless era (and they meant it as a compliment) with tens of thousands of likes.

Her interpolating one of her songs then saying she tried to recreate another one of her songs must have been kinda weird to watch. That and the fact that Olivia openly said that her songwriting process was pretending she is one of her inspirations. Where do we draw the line between inspiration and plagiarism?

For TS13, I want her to focus on getting more weeks at top instead of shipping everything in first week only.

Obviously TS13 has to be much stronger album than TLOAS

Honestly, on top of all the hopes and expectations I have for the music, I want TS13 to be the biggest, longest slow-roll of an era she's ever done. Release a bunch of pre-release singles for some Hot 100 records and to keep every few weeks fun and interesting for fans, stretch out album variants and promotions and bonus tracks for as long as TTPD or longer (maybe with less though lmao), pair it with a tour - like it should be a huge celebration of her career since it's THE major milestone for her, given the whole 13 thing.

I'm not sure what the right answer is, but I am sure that Taylor is annoyed by the rhetoric that she was some mean bully that stole credits from 'Deja Vu' when Jack has publicly stated on multiple occasions that this was not the case. My theory has always been that after Olivia said, very openly, that the bridge for 'Deja Vu' was a verbatim copy of 'Cruel Summer's' bridge that her team was properly contacted by people above Taylor/Jack/Anne. Whether or not Taylor knew this was happening, or could/should have put a stop to it is a completely different story.

At this point, I think it is purely inspiration because even on Olivia's new album I still hear inspiration of Taylor's songwriting (among other artists) and definitely get a very 'Speak Now' vibe lyrically from it. But that's also just the natural course of pop-music, newer generations are always going to be inspired by older generations, and when Taylor was coming out I heard instant inspiration from Shania Twain/Dolly Parton/Reba in terms of her lyricism.

I would love if this stupid beef, where nobody actually knows what happened behind the scenes, ended because it's so nonsensical. Even if Taylor was in the know about 'Deja Vu', she sort of has to enforce it because if she doesn't it leaves the door open for other artists to sample/interpolate her music and not give credit. To this day I still blame Olivia's team for this, because they should have trained her to not state that she wrote the bridge to be identical to 'Cruel Summer'.

Listening to Folklore this weekend and I really have to say, it is so much more that ***** than I ever remember when I'm between listens like, this is an ALBUM, a body of work! One of the greatest recordings in music history released at such a crystallized, complex moment. I think eventually it's going to become her most remembered, enduring album, at least out of what she's released to date, even more so than 1989. I've accepted that Evermore won't share that fate, but still. And every ounce of what her career's become in its wake comes down to Folklore being so astounding, exceptional, and compelling that it transformed her whole legacy literally overnight. Ugh I love it so much
