I'm not a Beyonce hater at all but her performances are all the same and too pretentious nowadays, it's not bad but it's also same old Beyonce.

 

Gaga just killed it, a masterpiece.

Damn, the whole site voting on this.  It reminds me of that record breaking Roar vs. Applause poll (1K members voted on that IIRC). Stuff like this wakes up the site. I suppose Gags is the Perfect Celebrity.  

Beyoncé's performance is genuinely historic to music history. Yes, her performance is the Coachella standard, even 7 years later.

 

It remains to be seen if Gaga's will set the new standard. I think it was very well done though.

It really comes down to one thing: what kind of performance do you like?

 

If you like theatricality and over-the-top storytelling, you're going to choose Gaga's.

If you like precision and choreographed routines, you're going to choose Beyonce's.

 

I understand this is ATRL and so the comparisons and fighting are inevitable, but my God there is no debate that both of these women put on THE BEST shows Coachella has ever and will ever see. This should really be a rare moment where the pop world comes together and agrees that we are all so lucky to be living at the same time as two of the most talented performers the world has ever seen. 

 

I am of the ilk that prefers a little bit of looseness and a good story, which is what Gaga delivered. But I am also a Gaga stan so of course I'm going to air on the side of Gaga. At the same time, I cannot deny how monumental Beyonce's performance and the impact it had.

Gagas production value was great but the setlist is not as strong as Beys. Most Mayhem sings are boring live, they are only good for a cute broadway play but not for Lady GaGa and that show concept i think. She should rethink the setlist and if she have to keep most sings from the new alberm give them a twist to fit the mood.
