Judging by the crowd reaction it certainly wasn't Gagchella. Literally no one was dancing never seen a crowd more dead.

If you watch videos made by people in the crowd you could hear a lot of people singing along, the official livestream removes audience sounds so we can hear Gaga better.

all of this talk trying to diminish Beyoncés success and impact is so forced. what's funny about all of this is that if any you ask ANY of your faves about Beychella (including Gaga most probably) they'll tell you that it's one of the best (if not the best) performances ever presented on a festival stage because they actually understand and grasp the amount of work that had to be done to achieve the absolute perfection and preciseness that Beychella presented, no sets, different stages, gimmicks or props needed

it's embarrassing to try and call it "boring" or "mediocre" or claim that the dancers carried the performance when 99% of the people making those claims have never been a part of or worked on a stage production, much less of that scale

gaga's show was amazing, but as it often happens, the production, the sets and props were almost the main attraction of the show. that's not to say gaga put on a bad performance, in fact i would argue it's one of the best performances she's ever delivered, and considering she's being doing it for 17 years and has gone through numerous health issues that at some point did affect the way she performs, it's actually quite impressive

at the end of the day, gaga's performance style is very different from beyoncé's. she's always had a deep theater influence, and she delivered exactly that, on steroids.

a few days ago i went as far as to say Beychella was better than Gaga's performance, but i don't think i would say that anymore. they both delivered excellence in their own lanes, but as a performer myself, i tend to lean towards Bey's approach to it, which is that the magic of the show and the main attraction is her raw talent and unmatched stage presence, the rest of the elements are simply used to highlight and enhance it. she did have a ton of people onstage (band members, background singers and dancers) but they were all also displaying indisputable raw talent, which is exactly what a music festival performance should be, a display of artistic excellence and raw talent, nothing less, nothing more. she gave a platform to a lot of people to shine as a group on stage, while also remaining the main attraction herself. the rest of it was scaffolding and lights, and with only those elements (talent, lights and some stairs), she was capable of delivering a perfectly cohesive, entertaining show that flows seamlessly. that's my preference, but that doesn't mean Gaga's performance wasn't excellent, because it just was.

now, going as far as to say Beyoncé's performance wasn't good or try to diminish her influence just to "prove a point" or to convince yourself that Gaga's approach to it was better, that's absurd.

And yet NO ONE (not even her own stans) knew about this until the "-chella" convo started, while Beychella lives rent-free in pop culture. It's not about who said it first (Gaga likely didn't either), it's about who made it iconic.

Need a clearer example? Remember when Gaga was actually relevant in 2010 and her wild outfits had every pop girl scrambling to play dress-up? She didn't invent eccentric fashion, but she made it a movement at the time. Hope this helps

If an artist perched on the spotify top 10 daily artists isn't relevant, then who is? and when was the list time Beyoncé was relevant according to that standart?

The fact that a Gaga song from 2010 is Beyoncé's second most successful song on Spotify right now despite her releasing five studio albums, one collaborative album, one soundtrack and one live album since then. No wonder you guys are mad.

Mayhem (13 tracks) is outstreaming Cowboy Carter (27 tracks) even if you remove DWAS. Lmaoooooooo indeed

y'all arguing over the use of ending an artists name with -chella instead of arguing about the actual performance is sending me a bit :ahh:

Let's add some further context and also remove songs that were released within a year of the performance, since those would naturally be higher, and look at the progression each day since their respective performances.

Lady Gaga (Day of Performance to Day 3 After Performance)

Poker Face: #160 -> #120 -> #92 -> #78

Just Dance: N/A -> N/A -> #191 - #161

Bad Romance: N/A -> N/A -> #192 -> #158

Judas: N/A -> N/A -> N/A -> #180

Beyoncé (Day of Performance to Day 3 After Performance)

Halo: N/A -> #185 -> #184 -> #185

One clearly had more of an impact on consumption than the other.

Well, good thing the OP isn't about streams s:wan:

Yes, let's compare streams… and while we're on the subject, let's compare total units sold on both of Beyoncé's last two albums and compare them with Gaga's? We could even throw in RWT and Gaga's baseball stadium tour gross/attendance records while we're at it s:wan:

wait hold up (no pun intended), beigh's second most streamed song yesterday was telephone? and that same song was like gaga's 12th?

then why the heck her fans keep telling atrl that queen beigh is still dominating? giving me a living in their own fantasy tbh.
