Um any couple who is getting married sits down to discuss who is going to their special event. Or pass by "Hey this is Eddie from accounting, we've been working together for so many years, he invited us to his sons birthday" or "Hey this is Tracy, she's been doing my nails since college, I'm adding a plus one for her husband" Americans always put a priority/highlight on their job titles, it's never "Hi my name is Penelope nice to meet you" and keep it at that, they always ask what one does as a profession. If she doesn't know everyone, they shouldn't be there. Maybe an occasional plus one but given how they even had NDAs, they must know everyone. "Hey sign this contract, I don't know you on my wedding day but somehow you're here and I want to be able to sue you if you don't follow it". Stupid.
