Madonna - 'Confessions, Part 2'

Featured Replies

I'm so ready, but lowkey wish she didn't refer to it as 'Confessions 2' because that's just inevitably calling for comparisons to the OG album

Trust me I'd know :rip:

By the way, can we get the original CD version Confessions back on Spotify?

:suburban:

This.. we need the non stop mix back

So it turns out we are in the same boat we were with MDNA (Orbit- ROL) and MX (Mirwais - M/AL)

Stuart's recent producing records are also not really promising. But then again Madonna's on a bad streak too. Did I see her wearing grillz in the video?

Original COADF was recorded in 2 weeks, she didn't overthink it, it was so obvious she never considered that album one of her best and in recent years she basically never acknowledged it.

So the fact that she is making music on the back of something that she never really liked but she thinks she needs to make it because of the fans is... confusing. I don't know how to feel.

Oh Madonna don't end Mariah like that

When has Mariah released any remotely similar to Confessions :rip:

People complaining about Madonna using autotune for this - go listen to How High, Future Lovers, Let It Will Be from COADF. Were you born yesterday, guys? Stuart knows exactly what and how to do when it comes to these nuances. Did we ever think we'd get a Confessions Part 2 a year or two ago? No, but at least she is not releasing an anniversary edition of COADF instead (like other pop girlies after 1 or 5 years)

as a huge Madge fan I can guarantee you, with her autotuned voice of nowadays it will be anything but incredible. she is still capable of making good body of work (Madame x is proof of that) but her overreliance on autotune ruins it.

i made my peace with that.

MX is a proof that she can't make a single song listenable anymore

Let's just hope for the tracks to be properly mixed and the music is good because she said the exact same thing before releasing MDNA and well

To be fair, we were already making those comparisons since she's working with Stuart again

YAAAAAASSSS MADGE

The thought of Dua Lipa on the record. :rip:

Keep Dua Lipa (and rappers) away from it. "Future Nostalgia" is disco cosplay—fun for a school dance for fifteen-year-olds. Madonna's "Confessions on a Dance Floor" is a very expensive-sounding album with exceptional, expensive productions by the supremely talented producer, Stuart Price. "Confessions" draws from disco, but completely transforms it into something else. It's dark EDM disco with strong elements of baroque pop, before Lana Del Rey made it popular in 2012 with "Born to Die." There's not a single album that sounds like it and it's been 20 years.

To be fair, she also recorded Like a Prayer in a similar fashion. And, outside of the title track and Express Yourself, ignored it on her tours. I don't think she has a negative opinion of the album. I think she just naturally pushes herself away from what people expect of her.

But I do agree that she seems to be doing this as a way to appease fans. The question really is... will this work. Because revisiting producers did not help MDNA or Madame X. She needs to find that creative spark. That being said, given all she's been through between her brothers both passing away and her own near-death experience, plus a second Trump administration... I think she's hungry.

Stuart was the musical director of The Celebration Tour. It's only natural that their collaboration on that has spilled over into new music.

Twigs, Gaga, Chappell LP2, Tate and now Mother herself, the way gays are continuing to eat in 2025, last year was not a fluke! Long live pop girls

I hope this is not a Pink Friday 2 or 143 situation.
