The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil says Ariana Grande is "dying"
This, I am shocked Republic allowed this to be released. The blame is NOT with Ariana in any way shape or form. But someone on the label side should've stepped in and said we cannot put this out with her in that state on camera. But then knowing what I know about the music industry... I am not surprised

Ariana Grande - "petal"
I'm sorry but it's impossible to watch this and not think about the elephant in the room. I don't know a single woman in Hollywood that doesn't have some version of an eating disorder, it's a sick environment. She needs medical and psychological help, and fast.

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
"Stay" should be the third single

Ariana Grande — petal review thread | Metacritic: 64 | AOTY: 61 | Pitchfork 6.5
If it's any consolation they get paid horribly and it's a toxic work environment

Troye Sivan - "She's the Best"
I'm going to interpret the artwork as a Death in Venice reference about mortality, beauty and performance in the context of twink death

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
She's the primary songwriter for melody and lyrics at this point and she's a huge star, if she wants that lyric it's going in lol. She's not a writing camp girlie anymore. From the behind the scenes clips and whatnot it seems Max and Ilya provide the beats and then she freestyles the entire topline on top of that, like how Charli works. Her sense of melody is incredible, like she came up with the I I I, immediately identified it as a huge hook and built the chorus around it in one take.

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
I know the comparison caused ruckus back in the day but I think we're far removed enough now... this era is very late 90s Mariah coded to me so far, 'Petal' is such a Mimi title and I love how soft and girly yet sophisticated everything is. Of course this is without hearing an iota of the rest of the record. But even it being a Max Martin synth pop song HTIMYLM still sounds very Mariah, like the way she does the adlib one octave up for the last chorus, the breathiness of it all.

Happy 29th Birthday to the hot and talented Finneas O'Connell
Adore him, talented king etc but how was he in Glee looking like a grown man which was like a billion years ago but he's only 29?

KATSEYE - "Animal"
This and Dai Dai are evidence that all Ed Sheeran needs is an image overhaul, he can still write hits

Taylor Swift
After certain.....life experiences......it has come to my attention that The Tortured Poets Department is in fact the greatest album of all time and a profound work of insight into the human condition, charting a cartography of desire, regret, and partial absolution in the face of ego death. I hereby renounce all playfully shady remarks made against The Poetess herself and pledge my allegiance to spreading her gospel except the last album

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
It hadn't really sunk in until this morning that we are about to get another top shelf Max Martin/Ariana Grande album full of pop perfection. There should be more panic in the streets rn

According to Chartmasters Bad Bunny is about to surpass Prince and Rihanna
Their methodology equalizes consumption methods for revenue, and it makes sense. The rich are getting far richer today vs the average person compared to the last few decades. It's not unbelievable that Bad Bunny has now made more $ for the music industry than Prince and Rihanna did. The problem lies in when trying to equate this with popularity, because the issue with streaming is that a HUGE proportion of streams are not active streams aka conscious choices to hit play, but autoplay/radio, algorithmic playlists, passive playlist streaming, and bots. So it's very silly to equate that to an actual purchase of a product which is where the majority of older artists' units come from.

Noah Kahan's song removed from Trump post after publicly slamming usage
Ballsy considering a lot of his potential folk/country audience are Trumpets. We love integrity over profits

Yet another Britney fragrance is being released, 10 y.o. outtake used for marketing
Who is even making these at this point? It feels like self replicating robots have taken over the Britney perfume operation years ago and they just automatically put out a new random 'Fantasy' variation every few years with no human oversight. I'm fairly certain Britney herself has no idea this exists

Which female rivalry produced the most number of hits worlwide?
Madonna & Janet have the most combined Top 10 hits on the Hot 100 no? I also feel like Janet was the only one M truly viewed as her competition back in the day because unlike the vocal divas she also had a very strong political point of view, themes of female liberation, could get geniunely artsy and sophisticated as well (ROL & Velvet Rope), so that rivalry may have actually motivated them to write bigger and better songs

Leigh-Anne Pinnock starts Patreon page to share pregnancy journey
Patreon is a great way for independent artists to generate an income while connecting with their fans, especially in this day and age when streams don't pay anything. If you love an independent artist why wouldn't you want to support them directly and in exchange get exclusive demos, unreleased tracks, instrumentals, photoshoot outtakes, etc etc?

CONFESSIONS II at 2m daily. What went wrong?
Not ppl bringing up Cold Heart. If Madonna turned Like a Prayer or La Isla Bonita into a generic playlist filler easy listening house song with a hot current artist then maybe she maybe could also get a big hit, sure. It would also be boring as hell.

Miley Cyrus teases new album
Charli is Warner's #1 female artist rn. Brat > Endless Summer Vacation and Music Fashion Film > Beautiful Trauma in terms of units and Charli actually tours.
- Artists who flopped in the 2010s but would've been successful in the 2020s

Miley Cyrus signs to Atlantic Records
She needs to do at least some major festival dates. No messy rollouts, just one clear lead single And better mixing. Those two things would've saved Something Flopulous which was a good album.
