I still wanna know what ''Act I'' means and how many acts she has in store. I dont even care about a video or a live performance right now. I  want to know more if there will be two albums.

I feel like act ii is going to be the film. I think she’ll maybe roll it out after the music? Which is different than what she’s done in the past.

but there are still grumblings of a double album, so act ii could be another album and act iii the visual that ties them all together.

Those Radio updates are beyond anything I thought was possible

That being said, still no news about an MV. Waking up has never felt more exhausting

Watch us not get any visuals until fall  :deadbanana4:

omg reading the discourse in here is a damn mess. I can see everyones points but there seems to be a lot of "you've had multiple era's to get used to no promo Bey why do you think it'll change now?" rhetoric but I don't think anyone is asking for her to go above and beyond.
The simple things count, like posting links through her instagram and feeding news through accessible media and not just her bio or website. Thats where the issue lies, not her being amiss from morning show interviews and carpool karaoke :priceless:

All of that aside these radio updates will cary the song nicely and I remain extremely excited and hopeful for this era. Sadly I think until we get some more tangible info like album cover, era aesthetic, info on the tracks and collaborations to discuss there is going to be a lot of volleying back and fourth with the stat updates, both good and bad :rip:

Anyway I can't wait for album day to see which song performs the best and hear everyones opinions on the standout track. The hive normally always serves taste when it comes to that.

As if she ever cared about music sales and charts after ST, seeing as how she makes little to no strategic marketing efforts whatsoever and utterly refuses to capitalize where it'd be incredibly beneficial (a la the Formation scenario etc.). The true dough comes in during touring.

I see "Break My Soul" as more of a promo single. If she seriously has a burning desire to have the song chart #1 and stay there for a prolonged period of time, Bey would pull every marketing stunt in the book and leverage all social media outlets; it's accessibly feasible for her and the route to virality is within her capacity to realistically drive on.

What is the pure sales thus far?

I'm with you in that I don't think act ii is a second album. 16 tracks is already a big album for her and I can't see her selling $40 boxes and vinyls just to turn around and do it all again.

I think I'm most interested to see the musical direction of the album with all the country rumors. Its clear they won't be country in the traditional sense, and the Ivy Park Rodeo instrumentals sound really promising if they're actually part of the album.

I will say we cannot wait until fall or whatever for a visual if it is act ii. Visuals are so part of her brand that even the GP feels is already fiending for a BMS video.

I feel like that's EXACTLY the reason why we might have to wait for them. She loves to do the things we don't want her to do :rip: #trollyonce

It's hard for me to get mad knowing we'll have 15 new tracks in a month :duca: Plus BMS is great and the anticipation for the visual is high. It took around 8 weeks for Single Ladies to reach #1 on billboard Hot 100 so I have faith.

In any case we are winning

If Bey collaborated with Max Martin, the industry would be destroyed. The barrage of #1's after #1's like never seen before. Mariah, MJ, Taylor, Adele and Katy's prodigious records would not be safe anymore. Imagine how Bey would interpret and read those potential pop classics live.

Bey would KILL this :jonny6:

Do we still believe the pop show rumors? I hope she'll ramp up the exposure last two weeks before album release and actually perform the new music. There's nothing more magical than Beyoncé performing live and that's going to be the best promo leading up to the album

Why would anyone want Beyoncé to work with Bland Martin and sound like any other artist on the radio? No, thanks.

Depends - Blinding Lights was a pretty great song, we can't deny it. And with Bey's contribution, it could work. I wouldn't want an entire album obviously, but one song? Why not

Blinding Lights is a good song with absolutely no flavor, and it was bigger than its artist. That’s why The Weeknd can have the biggest smash of the decade and still not be remembered when voting for the Grammys. The Max Martin effect in a nutshell. Bey doesn’t need that. Also, Adele’s Max Martin songs are the worst in her discography.

The way the album, single and base thread are low key dead (just compare it to a few days ago) so quickly within a week - if Bey can kill the hype among her own fans that quick imagine how over it the GP is

I mean whats there to post tbh? After the initial release single threads usually start to become less interesting

The thing is every notable article that spilled genuine tea has referenced it as a double album (Variety etc). Vogue used terms like "most ambitious project to date" and "music in abundance"....so I really do think she's dropping two interconnected projects. A two-part visual album or "series" too.

Now, because I'm deep into the marketing geekiness of it all, I can imagine the following scenarios:

1) act 2 really is a whole other album, with its own separate visual component. Think Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience. He botched the second album which has NO hits, but the concept was AMAZING.

2) act 2 is essentially deluxe set of tracks that will be marketed as a connected "project" when it reality it's more of a booster pack.

[I could see both of the above being lined up later to use to announce the tour, which for sure will be next year]

OR

3) act 2, like others have suggested, is just a creative way of referencing either the visual or tour for example.

I'm not worried about the lack of BMS video. At least not yet.

Like a few others have said, there definitely is a method to it all. And I do feel they are playing the long game.

She's doing well out of the gate and seems to be a shoo-in for a top 10 spot...without the video.

I'm not sure even they were banking on this. So, I can imagine them letting the song do its thing organically and following with the visual for a second / cementing wave.

Let's also not forget that we don't quite know what the Renaissance visual component will be. In the next few weeks, we're about to be inundated with the video, trailers, covers, and so much more. So, in a way, I'm happy to navigate through the uncertainties and "where is it" of it all knowing that ish is for sure coming. For sure.

One other off-head thought was that maybe they are waiting for album release week to maximize the SPS. But that would be even too long for me. I say drop the video soonish and another video from the broader visual album can be uploaded on YouTube to maximize first week SPS.
