I'm so confused by this entire reissue and why it exists

I'm not excited about the B'Day re-release. Not in a negative way -- I truly feel nothing. It's so random. If it's remastered or re-recorded, that'll definitely intrigue me. It's a great album and the rough-around-the-edges feel to it makes sense, but I wouldn't mind an updated version.

Is LMVH divesting from SirDavis a sign it's not doing well, and Parkwood is just spinning it as a reclamation of the brand? This isn't me being shady, as I'm genuinely curious. You could read it as they helped launch it and then received their investment back, or that they don't see a future for it, so they're taking the buyout now rather than lose more money. They didn't release a statement alongside hers, and that seems odd to me. Not even the "We're grateful to have launched this alongside Beyonce" usual nonsense

No one will be tuning into the reissue after listening to THAT. That song gives "Have you heard of this hot new thing called the internet?" except it was 2006

I don't see it being a bait-and-switch. She's secretive, yes, but I feel as if it's unwise to deliberately trick your audience. (And before anyone starts, teasing the visuals clearly wasn't intended to be a fake-out.) As for your spoilered portion, the Hive that goes all out and buys things would buy B'Day merch in September and then every morsel of Act III material in November. I don't see the GP rushing to buy B'Day merch, anyway. They'll eat up whatever music she ties to it, especially if it's nostalgic, but it's not going to be a huge distraction. For them, they consume the music, and then they move on.

For this to be intentional, you'd have to believe she waited for the camera to catch her talking about her knees at the World Cup. Just paused, waiting for it to pan over to her. She's not Taylor Swift.
