I think the issue is we are assuming Beyoncé/Parkwood are aiming for something WE want for her, and then faulting them for not doing the work to achieve that, when Beyoncé has been very clear about her goals.

What makes you think Beyoncé, the woman whose last lead single was performed at the Super Bowl and not released for 3 months later, is truly concerned or even aiming toward immediate Hot 100 domination?

And also, it's been a week.

Who said I care about what Beyoncé wants :rip:

the same lady who launched a tour 3 days after her new album came out though?

people are going to know her lyrics. people already knew the lyrics to BREAK MY SOUL this weekend at the clubs.

and it's not like it takes a scavenger hunt to hear her albums. as for OTRII, which was right after Coachealla (amazing tour promo tbh), isn't the lack of interest more about Jay-Z (which even the HIVE was mad about?) than the fact that Lemonade wasn't on streaming? Like if your own fanbase are not excited about your tour, how is the GP supposed to also be? That's her fault, sure, but let's not act like her next solo tour will falter becuase we didn't get the BREAK MY SOUL video in the first week.

And what does she have to recover from? I think you're leaning too hard on ATRL's false realities. EIL and TG were indeed side projects and if no one knows about them, then also no one cares that they flopped. Plus, she's a legend now. No one really cares or faults her if she flops. Look at the reaction Mariah had at the BET Awards. Nothing but love and her last (amazing) album FLOPPED HARD (despite having promo). People generally don't care to tabulate successes or failures. I get we want as many people to hear our fave's quality but Beyoncé is clearly over pushing her work into people's ears.

This paragraph is hysterical seeing how so many want to police the ones bitching about her decisions.

U see, u cant tell me "they know what they are doing" while the fans (us) frequently unter how we are over these shenanigans and horrid decisions and at the same time argue that OTR2 didnt sell that way because same fans were not here for it..

So as u can see: our opinion does matter. If we, as a fanbase in majority utter our discontent, bells have to be ringing over at Parkwood HQ.

Why are people worried? It’s a month away from the album, we will have 15 new songs and loads of visuals.

Streets are saying the album is a VR exclusive. The vinyl is decorative and comes with a QR code with a link to buy the VR gear :eli:

Can we be serious?

- They specifically put digital downloads of just the single itself onto the site so that Hive can buy it more than just on iTunes.

- They made sure to send it to multiple radio formats, including ones that haven’t played her since IASF

And although it’s not single related,

- They have now sold FOUR (4) box sets AND an “exclusive” vinyl to try and bolster first week sales.

It is clear they want commercial success. They may not be selling out artistically for it, but they want it (which is very understandable, only faux art Hive would drag that).

Yes, they sold downloads of the single but also released it halfway through the tracking week. They may be doing things that allow for commercial success but nothing about it suggests they are emphatically looking for some HUGE commercial impact while not doing very obvious things like releasing with a video or allowing the single to have 7 days of tabulation before charting.

This era is different because Beyoncé is allowing her work more readily on the open market (lyric video, single sales, radio release, wide streaming). But I'm talking about their "lack of promo" [within the first week] relating to an idea that she WANTS all this success but just doesn't know how to get it. I just think she's fine either way. She's not blocking her succeess, but so far she's not scrambling to get it either, like the way people want her to.

Beyonce is the one stating that this is a "renaissance" era. She's droned in several interviews about how she had to "dig deep" and retreat from the public to keep her peace but she's BACK. She's the one sending out press releases about how she "misses the fans".

I can't fault some of the folks for expecting something different than this. Hive is not going to be able to carry this era is she doesn't get it together. I just hate seeing so much potential slip before our eyes. Beyonce really thinks because she's earned 25 years of a mainstream career that she doesn't have to do much else to keep people engaged. That the tickets will always sell. As cringe as Madonna is, she never adopted that attitude at Beys age. Mariah just successfully transitioned into her undeniable legend era and she undeniably has more commercial hits than Beyoncé. This is like Beys final test.

You know I’m not even mad about that because one thing I know about Giselle is that her mind is ahead of her time no matter how insufferable she might be. :-*

I am here for a VR experience as I have tried it before and it is something that will 100% be the future of entertainment. Our girl will be credited as an innovator. :gaycat1:She deserves to flop if the equipment is proprietary though. I’m just wondering if those pop ups are VR stations for people to experience.

And Bey is very technologically aware. She’s an investor after all and looking for new ways to make bank. AR/VR is an untapped market and will take over the entertainment industry in the next 15 years, Apple and Microsoft knows that. Girl knows her stage equipment, she partnered up with THX that had the best sound for a stadium, she was one of the first to use camera drones for OTR II, she knows all the names of the lights and cameras. I wouldn’t be surprised if the VR thing is true.

Huh? I argued that they know what they are doing relative to the goals they seem to have for themsleves. Beyoncé has been very clear of her intentions yet we are making marketing plans for her that don't even honour what she says she wants for her career.

And in that same paragraph I admit that her touring with Jay-Z and fans not liking it is her fault. I'm unsure what the issue is here, because clearly Beyoncé wasn't touring with Jay-Z because she thought he would get her the biggest tour of her career, but for personal, family reasons. Is she not allowed to do that, what seemed to make her happy, lest her tour numbers falter?

Fan opinion matters more about content than release strategies though. If one is going to unstan because she didn't promote within a week of a release, or even within a month (let's say) then what are they stanning exactly?

LOOOOL

(also love your new avatar!)

I just think this negativity is souring the actual excitement of a new Beyoncé era and its wholly unnecessary for an album that seems first and foremost to be about joy.

Let's bop to BREAK MY SOUL and complain later? Because honestly what good is it doing now?

Thank you:alexz3: I agree with what you said though, bottom line is we should be celebrating the fact that we’re getting an actual album, and a fun dance one at that for the summer! (And potentially a second act?:jonny5:)

She’s still going to sell well album wise, and we know whatever visual is in store is going to be amazing, the gp is going to stan hard, let’s soak it all up and focus on just streaming and bopping:clap3:

I would laugh out loud if we dont get any visuals this era.

I mean she literally made Black Is King spontaneously on a whim, so if she can’t be bothered to put that same energy for a new album/era then…:rip:

But something definitely is coming it wouldn’t make any sense to randomly just stop making visuals.

I want to believe Tuesday Friday Tuesday meant something other than her changing the release date :gaycat6:
