Mariah Carey's Emotions was released 35 years ago!
One of her most underrated albums and sadly overlooked by her with no anniversary edition. Personally it's in my top 3 from her and I think the dance influences and upbeat tempos make it quite unique in her discography. It's a very tight listen but has so many highlights: the title track, Can't Let Go, Make It Happen, To Be Around You, Till The End Of Time are some of my favorites. I love the more dramatic feel a lot of the songs have to them and the eeriness of the slower tracks make for a very interesting soundscape. What a fantastic records that deserves more recognition!

The Apple Thread
The colors on the new iPhone 18 pro look beautiful. I really liked the design when it debuted with the 17 pro but the difference on the back looked too jarring for my liking. These new ones however are perfect for me! I have the 16 pro now which still works perfectly so I'll probably just wait until next year when they release new phones and the 18 pro will go for cheaper to get it.

Kind of a random thought but I was listening to Rainbow by Mariah the other day and thought about the fact that her path could've played quite differently had Mariah made How Much a single back in 2000. Because '03 Bonnie and Clyde wouldn't have happened if that was the case. Would they have still been inclined to do Crazy In Love then? How would her debut album play out instead? Obviously she would've become a big star regardless, she was destined for this but it's interesting to think about how differently things might've happened.

Glory, Britney Spears' last album, turns 10
Sadly I have to agree. With the exception of Femme Fatale, I think that one is worse.

Is Gwen Stefani one of the biggest frauds in pop music?
No? Life happens, people change. Just because you don't agree with who she aligns with nowadays doesn't mean she wasn't genuinely one of the coolest people in music at that time, which was more than 20 years ago. Plus she's hardly guilty of anything actually damming for anyone that's not a terminally online leftist. Most people don't care.
