I'm not trying to be argumentative, however that mess is in here too, which is why I replied here and not those other threads. So please don't act like I came in here bitching over nothing. Quite frankly, only the people who felt hit by that post should even be responding. Cause if you know it wasn't for you, why are some of you getting so beside yourself over a COMMON SENSE rant? Like I said, they can continue to cry about BMS's streaming and what not. I'm on something different, which makes a hellavu lot more sense than crying over where the song is going in a week.

 

It makes more sense to have actually expected to see or at least hear Bey during release week than it does worrying about chart placements. Again, I feel like this was...common sense.  And yes, the real Hive does care about where this song charts. Let's not pretend. I care. I'm just not invested in caring. I will celebrate all her achievements, but that stan part of me who cared about all that crap died a long time ago cause to me, its childish. I'm practicing on being a non-stan stan.

im sorry but you really are because we all agree with you. All the mess here yesterday was about her lack of communication, transparency, engagement etc… the only time BMS performance was brought up was to argue that we need to video to help Spotify be stable while radio continues to build. All of this is common sense. Only the usual suspects were here telling us to take a chill pill.

That's where I stand currently. I understand the gesture of having the music 'speak for itself', or even the notion of the song being put out as nothing more than a simple teaser of what's to come. The problem is that Break My Soul just isn't a strong enough song to stand on its own two feet. It deserves a better roll-out --- something a bit more grand. This is literally the precursor for the album release, and interest is already waning to a degree because she and her team are giving radio silence.

when they said this era was gonna be huge, this is the kind of stuff i imagined, pop-up parties and fan interactions. they did it really big when IVP was first launching, I wonder if we'll see any of that kind of marketing for the album.

Someone mentioned this a few pages back, but I think our expectations are probably killing the era for us a bit. And I don’t mind these debates in the base, as it’s typically less than 50 of us. The problem is when these rumors/expectations spread across social, media outlets report them as truth, and the GP starts to believe them. I just don’t see the benefit in people thinking there would be more to the Vogue interview or that she might be performing at the BET awards. And I know it’s not Parkwood’s job to respond to every rumor about Bey or the project, but they could at least seed info to BeyLegion to manage this stuff.

To be fair, I don’t find it as much embarrassing for ST, as I find it more impressive for 4.

 

It shows how much LONGEVITY 4 had in the grand scheme, and how it stood the test of time.

 

As per ST numbers, it did what it needed to do in the US. 6x Platinum eligible makes it her 3rd highest, with IASF being her highest “only” with 8x, so it’s close. She just alienated her global audience with it, which is why the WW numbers aren’t what you would expect.

What are your expectations for the music video? Something grand and colourful like the Vogue photoshoot or something more typical and down-to-earth?

i mean i feel like part of the frustration comes from yvette teasing a great rollout when all they’ve given is less than a standard release in 2022 when music videos are just expected 

 

like obviously everything will come when  it comes and it will serve when it does but don’t talk a big game and then do the bare minimum for an artist at bey’s level
