Social Media has made it, so that we as a generation celebrate mediocrity. That's why anybody can become "someone" these days. We celebrate relatability and reward people with barely any talent. Gone are the days where the best singers or performers actually are the biggest stars or most successful artists. This is why I believe someone like Taylor is able to flourish as much as she is. This is not to downplay her immense success (or that of Selena who built an empire), but let's face it: In comparison to their actual talents, their success seems absolutely ridiculous.
