Wayment. Bey has a greatest hits album?! :deadbanana2:

No. They're saying her biggest hits didn't smash right out of the gate.

Beyoncé’s instagram stories have 2 moods. Either spam the **** out something to the point of annoying everyone or not post anything at all :bibliahh:

we fooled ourselves when we expected things to be different this time. This era is going to be full of dumb decisions that some people here will defend to hell and back.
Everyone here (especially us complainers) just want her to reach her full potential. Break My Soul being so close to under 2M on spotify should be a major wake up call that this silence is not a good strategy. And if the streams continue to drop, radio will drop the song too.

The tour is just going to be North America and Europe again. I hope you live in those areas :lmao:

I don't know if that makes sense, though. 2022 consumering music is a lot different than 2000s consumption of music, hell even different than 2016. This is a "get it and go" generation that moves on very quickly if you're not in their faces on a constant basis. A song like BMS isn't gonna help long term in the US if there is no proper attention to it from Bey herself.

Yup. The people doing the heavy lifting are a circle of hyped fans through word of mouth and PR articles. I can already see through their method with the blank pfps, communication through bios, and silence. That kind of exposure doesn't necessarily have a broad reach like some of us think it would. It can be very muted in a fast-moving world based on algorithmic catered interests and shortened attention spans. The Hive has been streaming the music, spending our money, and at then end of the era I better not see the blame shift to "we didn't do enough". It's up to them to pick up the rest as it cannot be only the Hive to carry the era. She's pretty much maximized the hardcore fans streaming the music and has barely tapped into the other demographics of consumers. And knowing some stans who didn't know about the vinyls already tells me this rollout is questionable. :priceless:

Maybe they don't want to waste all their cultural cache and attention on the single and plan on going 2000mph in the immediate weeks leading up to the album.

Just not sure that works in 2022, though. If BMS falls off it could harm the entire era.

stupid take. Like what speaks against timely rollouts? There is 0 to lose.

Nothing against timely rollouts. I’m trying to be at peace with however things are panning out. I want a video now just as  much as anyone but it’s outside our control tbh ??‍♂️

At least you're not a Madonna stan good LORD :deadbanana4: idk what's worse; her, her team of leeches and yes men, or the delusional stans. Every release during my stan tenure has been halfway to its full potential at best. Bey might be all but invisible nowadays but at least when she does poke her head out it's with quality and care.

I think as years pass by, it becomes evident that Bey + her team bought into the hype that started with ST. They think this will last forever, the perception of her being the "Queen". It won't and its funny/tragic to see how they are not responding to such accessible data/reception.

also, which of her greatest hits do you mean? Damn near all of them did great on the charts aside from RTW and Formation..

I was thinking of Get me bodied, Love on top, countdown. I just don’t feel like a Beyoncé song has to hit Top 5/ number 1 to become canon for her / impactful.

I should clarify that MY personal Beyoncé greatest hits didn’t do that well in the charts ????????

At least she had an incredible career till her mid 50s INCLUDING hits, Bey is 40 and feels like shes already above all that

Can y'all put all this effort into streaming the song on Spotify? :rip:

Germany is stable since release, so dont come for me. Despite complaining, im doing my part

Lol I'm all for being critical and venting your opinions but some of y'all are doing too much. The song is doing fine. It will do fine. To me, the initial response is what matters most. When's the last time we've seen a solo Bey song being responded to so well. Yeah the momentum is a little gone now, but there's no way the silence will continue onto the album release. Something will come soon, we just need to wait.

We are! :priceless: Those 2 mill daily streams are literally the Hive and the GP either said no or they haven't tapped into it. :deadbanana: Giselle needs to get her ass on TikTok and twerk or something. :jonnycat:

I think the issue is we are assuming Beyoncé/Parkwood are aiming for something WE want for her, and then faulting them for not doing the work to achieve that, when Beyoncé has been very clear about her goals.

What makes you think Beyoncé, the woman whose last lead single was performed at the Super Bowl and not released for 3 months later, is truly concerned or even aiming toward immediate Hot 100 domination?

And also, it's been a week.

Well i guess one expects a person whos famous for her "sing it yall" to want the crowd to know the lyrics to her songs.

Also she wants to sell out stadiums and her last stadium tour (OTR2) didnt sell out the way FWT did.

Dont think she can ride on the hype of ST and Lemonade forever, she had BIG misses in between (EIL and TG) and she has yet to completely recover from them

I'm okay with this. Beyoncé came into her own as an artist at just about the time when the average popgirl's career begins its descent from commercial viability. She knows that, so everything she has presented since then has been created and released on her terms only, with the intent that it speak for itself without pre-selling any ideas or expectations for it, or chasing exposure and longevity once it's out. I do miss seeing her and watching her promote, but if Beyoncé in her prime of life and artistry means quiet or stunted eras for masterpiece after masterpiece, I'll take it. Yeah it's ******* boring as hell sometimes and there's no good reason why we don't have a brand new music video to watch right now, but it's coming and it'll be great so :michael: That's more than I can expect from my other faves.

the same lady who launched a tour 3 days after her new album came out though? people are going to know her lyrics. people already knew the lyrics to BREAK MY SOUL this weekend at the clubs. and it's not like it takes a scavenger hunt to hear her albums.

as for OTRII, which was right after Coachealla (amazing tour promo tbh), isn't the lack of interest more about Jay-Z (which even the HIVE was mad about?) than the fact that Lemonade wasn't on streaming? Like if your own fanbase are not excited about your tour, how is the GP supposed to also be? That's her fault, sure, but let's not act like her next solo tour will falter becuase we didn't get the BREAK MY SOUL video in the first week.

And what does she have to recover from? I think you're leaning too hard on ATRL's false realities. EIL and TG were indeed side projects and if no one knows about them, then also no one cares that they flopped. Plus, she's a legend now. No one really cares or faults her if she flops. Look at the reaction Mariah had at the BET Awards. Nothing but love and her last (amazing) album FLOPPED HARD (despite having promo). People generally don't care to tabulate successes or failures. I get we want as many people to hear our fave's quality but Beyoncé is clearly over pushing her work into people's ears for the sake of her (or our) pride.

Can we be serious?

- They specifically put digital downloads of just the single itself onto the site so that Hive can buy it more than just on iTunes.

- They made sure to send it to multiple radio formats, including ones that haven’t played her since IASF

And although it’s not single related,

- They have now sold FOUR (4) box sets AND an “exclusive” vinyl to try and bolster first week sales.

It is clear they want commercial success. They may not be selling out artistically for it, but they want it (which is very understandable, only faux art Hive would drag that).
