She lost her voice cause of Lyme disease and it's something else now. She's still pretty to look at but I feel she's focusing to much on that aspect. I remember when she did her up tour she said she wanted it to be just about the music and she wore this yellow thing throughout. But when I watched her doc and she was doing a begas show it was all about the looks this time and less about the voice. She got a lot of bad press due to her performances on the Harry styles tour as well so clearly no one is interested. Also no mutt Lange no sucess. Her glory days are untouchable

I do think she kinda has been promoting it to the wrong audience. She was supporting Harry Styles in London and these kids already hated Robyn in Amsterdam but they also were hateful towards Shania on social media.

I love her , she will always be one of my favorite (country/pop) artists but I couldn't finish her latest album.

I do find it odd how it doesn't have a Metacritic score yet. Anyway, I've been streaming it all day.

She waited too long to reignite her recording career, no one cares about her anymore even if the music is cute

I actually saw her earlier this month when she did a one off show in Ireland in a stadium and she sold most of it out (sold about 20k tickets). I think in the last few weeks she's done some tiny shows and the Harry Styles London shows and this Irish show. I saw the show as I like some of her hits, but I kinda have to be in the mood for country overall I think.

alas on the point of the thread: her 1995 album The Woman In Me had hits in the US and Canada, the Come On Over era had massive appeal and was a massive hit worldwide, and then Up did pretty good, and then she sadly had to take a break because of her health. That probably affected how commercially successful her music was, and it's great that she's able to make music still. Also country isn't everyone's cup of tea especially on ATRL so that's another factor.

She did fall off, but she's also an artist that is probably 25 years past her prime.

Shania went through a lot

Country audience and mainly country radios are pretty sexist and ageist, so this is the main issue imo. Look at how Carrie Underwood bombed with her last album and she is way younger than Shania. Also, as someone mentioned, she waited too long between Up and the follow-up Now. Of course she had to focus on her health and divorce, but she also waited a lot between Come On Over and Up, so that was always kind of a pattern with her. Anyways, she is the only woman with 3 RIAA Diamond-certified albums. She will always be iconic.
