I think the tension of commercial success vs. artistic authenticity is one of the main components of who she is — even like, on purpose or as like, a creative concept for her, this whole era has a very meta, in-on-the-joke vibe, she knows what people say about her & how her numbers mostly suck

I like that about her, a lot actually

But at the end of the day, you hit the nail on the head, it's just real unlikely she'll ever reach the heights we want for her & that she seems to want too & that's really OK. We're 12+ years in, it's no surprise anymore

I just don't believe she really wants it as bad as she acts like she does, or at least I think she's always gonna choose her creative over what's best for business. & that's ok too

It's annoying cause you can tell the photoshoots are great but these photos are just not cover worthy at all

the hat is lowkey atrocious lol but I do think the smoking one is undoubtedly the coldest cover so far & the most "tinashe" out of them all. defo would help sell more of a certain image (the same girl that grabbed travis scott's crotch btw) than whatever the main version is but i doubt atlantic would've let her have a joint on the cover so we got the glasses instead ffff.
