BTW, I hadn't caught this post before, and while I'm not an HBDUWM stan, I completely agree with you. Even if it's light and poppy, it's probably the most MAYHEM song on the entire album.

Thematically, the record is kind of all over the place (because MAYHEM duh) and doesn't really align with how she framed it narratively in interviews or performances. HBDUWM is the only track that really goes there, imo. The other songs connect more on a sonic level than a lyrical one to the overarching theme.

I hope LG8 will commit to a clear narrative lyrically

She should imo, Abel and Benito are two of the few male mainstream artists rn that are willing to do interesting stuff with their music and not repeat the same **** they always do...
