As stans, we want the best for B. We want her to be the most successful most impactful artist possible. Sometimes that means people wish she did things a bit differently. I don't think that's a bad thing.

Sure, sometimes its overly negative. But for the most part people just care, and that's one way in which they show interest.

There's no hierarchy, and people can listen as much or as little as they want to B's music and still be a stan of hers. I think that's unhealthy metric.

That said, the obsession with streaming is corrosive. I personally have no interest. I couldn't tell you anything about B's streams. I listen to her music when I want to, and otherwise listen to other music. The popularity of her songs have no bearing on my taste, but I would obviously like it if she was more popular and consumed more widely like her modern contemporaries.

The concept of her dropping Cowboy Carter, Renaissance, and Betty Black Tour all at once with no heads up.

Conman Carter was an album for US only. Nobody outside the US gives a **** about country music or the politics behind the album. Outside of English speaking countries people don't even know what's she's singing about. As a whole, Beyonce is very US centric and her streams can only go so far. She chose to neglect everyone outside of US UK FR so let's all live with that. Promo excuse is just the tip of the iceberg.

The trilogy will remain iconic to US, but the GP just quite frankly wont consider it legendary like that. They dont compare to ST or Lemonadr

I don't care about streams because basic tik tok **** slop be getting a trillion streams. Bey would have to make redundant **** in order to get her streams to organically blow up. I don't want Beyonce discography to suffer. Also no shade but the Bey stans who don't like Cowboy Carter don't like it because it's country inspired. Cowboy Carter is a better album when it comes to lyrics and meaning. Renaissance is more catchy and more replay enjoyable but Cowboy Carter has deeper topics and has a mix of slow and fun songs.

But thats the take that annoys me a bit: Bey HAS success with her music despite not playing the TikTok game; HOWEVER, she cannot sustain it for the life of her because of negliciance, carelessness, and/or bad management. Theres no reason a multi-week #1 song like Break My Soul should be doing 120k daily streams. That just goes to show whats wrong with her approach.

we have no right to drag tiktok when tiktok has been HEAVILY carrying the acts era. Cuff It and Texas Hold'em wouldn't be the hits they were if tiktok didn't make them trends. Not to mention making 2 hands semi viral and all night viral too... we should be thanking them

Bey feels dissociated from the music industry which is weird to me because she is still a huge part of pop culture and is not even a legacy act. Also Bey has released two albums 2 years from each other. I don't think Beyonce should do Interviews nor be on IG lives but I do think she should at least be more visible and have better promo for her most ambitious 3 part project. It's like Beyonce is still in the industry but ain't at the same time.

Her streams aren't even that bad when you consider how well a lot of her deep cuts do. She just lacks global pop hits from the 2010s compared to the girls in their prime during that period (Gaga, Rih, Katy etc). Her rhythmic hits from the 2010s are solid when you compare them to other rhythmic hits tho.

All the essays here about why Bey isn't doing promo… meanwhile she's just being a mom who puts her family first.

From my POV she is treating her career as a hobby as this point. She obviously loves music and performing, but in her current life stage her career has taken a back seat.

I wonder how things will change as Blue and the twins get older and less dependent on her. Will she really retire or will she come back with a bang?

Maybe that's a hard pill to swallow for some but to me it's evident she is basically chasing bigger financial gains without compromising quality. She treats her brand as a rare commodity and the people who care will be paying big for tickets and exclusive itens so her market value will just go up but her target group is almost like a "niche" which in turn make the point of the trilogy (that is reminding everyone of how black culture is on the roots of a lot of things) ineffective since it's a message being delivered to people that are already aware. Maybe she gave up chasing a broader appeal since she knows there is resistance and she can't really turn activism-charged music into a huge hit but she could at least try to bring attention in other forms outside the basic "drop an alberm go on tour" route.

I don't really get that though. As baffling as I find her decisions at times, I'm not really concerned about her impact or success anymore because that's far beyond my pay grade. Who am I to tell a woman who has sold hundreds of millions of records as one of the most famous women on the planet what to do?

I think some of this is the fact that a lot of us came to her at a different time in her life, and a different time for the music industry. But how many times can she tell us she's done doing all that? It isn't going to change. When the kids are grown, she will want to spend her golden years enjoying life even more. She's only going to get less accessible.

No point making excuses. Each era we got less and less. We don't even get a basic video anymore. Don't defend that
