I guess she just feels her "worth" is exceptionally high. Given all the discourse around her and how influential and polarizing she's become just adds to that effect. The security she requires is a lot more critical than most celebrities for example. Like she's become a historical figure in music that goes beyond the vapidness of most pop stars of the moment in time, so whatever she's overcharging now can be sold for A LOT more later down the line.

I feel like it's a tad titti but cooler when an old song smashes. Especially if the old song was lil moderate hit back then, or a non-single. If it's a hit from the past that's smashing, then the new song wins.

I can honestly see Xtina doing something like it back in her Dirrty days. She don't have the iconic/unmistakable "shape" tho lol. But anyways, this whole performative outrage and microaggressions ppl are throwing over a 20 year old Spanish version of one of her biggest hits is so cringe. 2006 was clearly a much better time for pop than the nauseating think pieces ppl have over every little thing Beyoncé does today. I think it's safe enough to say that BIK flopped bc white/conservative's across the board felt insecure about the title and premise as a film. Commercially it probably would have done better left as "The Gift" on Disney+ but she took the risk and I ain't mad at her for it. It was a masterpiece. The music video for Otherside and how it relates to her miscarriage(s) was one of the most vulnerable visuals of her career. It's just a huge damn shame how mistreated the era was bc of how fuckin beautiful it was, so I don't blame her for the way she treats high budget visuals and messages moving forward.

Don't Stop The Music is a timeless mf'n classic. NTLTC is a classic too, but it's not as universal or timeless. It took some time for the world to realize this tho.
