As a somewhat new Bey fan (the Navy vs Hive rivalry held me back for years), I'm always a bit shocked when people want her to do more.

Her artistry has lowkey never been more impressive, even if CC wasn't my cup of tea, I would rather get albums like that that shake the table than have her planning a whole promo run and rehearsing for 10+ performances when the effort is better spent curating the albums she has been producing since 4. Sure the ST/Lemonade eras had fun performances but it doesn't really feel like anything's lost when she's giving some of the best albums of her career 3 decades in.

People like to poke fun at Beyoncé's "twitter vibes" compared to her numbers, but the reality is that the only people who would deny Bey's legend status are people who hate her anyways. I wouldn't be mad at more promo but solely from an enjoyment standpoint. Talking about numbers and streams when she's at this point of her career always feels reductive.

My fave Rih is a streaming queen, but the numbers really mean nothing when all I've gotten from her recently is a pretend beef with a very new artist and people calling her outfit a chop at the MET. Like numbers just really don't mean that much and it feels juvenile when Bey is absolutely in the conversation with legends like MJ and Madonna, idc what people say about that.

Get back to civics and convert vermilion and Bloom for me!

I actually don't need more promo from her, I'd just like her to stop acts of self harm.

All I really want is for her art to be accessible.

There are so many amazing things she's done that are hard or impossible for people to experience. I don't think that makes her more exclusive and therefore more valuable.

If I had a wish, that's what I would ask for. Her music catalogue to be accessible, including vinyl pressings for collectors. Her visuals to be accessible. Her tours and live albums to be on streaming and YouTube etc.

Since the gross mishandling of the Renaissance era having ONE proper single, teasing a visuals that was never released, not uploading the film to streaming and host of other mishaps. I have long accepted that we will never get back Prime Beyonce.

Not that she is too old, bad kneed or out of touch, it's that she has clearly made it known that she loves her art but is also capitalistic and cares about her money and refuses to do anything outside of releasing music, selling random products and spending time with her 'fiftyleven kids'.

I have made peace with that, as an artist she continues to improve or sustain quality musical output. On the contrary she is no longer an artist who the fans genuinely can fully enjoy and showcase their love via the content releases that makes eras fun. In marketing we would say Brand Beyonce is on the decline of the product life cycle. It's basically a dogma that is aligned to people aging. The sooner we accept our fave is like Madonna who blazed a trail then got old and no longer is fun, the better it will be for us. Sadly there is no new superstar in sight that can fill the Beyonce void or at least rival it.

Tl:dr Beyonce is old and boring and we gotta accept that all she does now is sell random products, drop new music, hide and then tour.

the real gag is that her dumb ass is leaving money on the table because we WANT to pay for some of the things she's withholding!

suburban

I actually think her exclusivity approach is smart, BUT she can do a bit more. Bodyguard radio push? Some more info on the visuals? Not breaking Alien Superstar's momentum by removing its TikTok sound (I still genuinely believe it could have been a streaming hit as in billions of streams).

Anyways, these don't require her to show her face, but just add a little more to the rollout.

Honestly, the 2010s were A LOT worse in terms of her being frustrating. Maybe some of you weren't around or forgot what 2013 was like but she literally did a whole Super Bowl show, launched a world tour, starred in TWO global campaigns with TWO new songs that NEVER got released, PERFORMED these songs multiple times, and never explained why that happened. Then when ST finally came the videos were not available on YouTube for months, and that was when YouTube videos actually mattered! And let's not mention the DISASTER that was Tidal, which took away from Lemonade's commercial potential. And the BOTCHED, unwanted release of EIL. After enduring all of this for over a decade as a stan (and watching her stature pretty much remain the same) I'm just immune to the self sabotage and lack of effort in certain areas

I will never understand so-called stans who are confused about why Beyoncé doesn't do more. Because she doesn't give a flying F*CK. She doesn't want to do an interview. She doesn't want to be relatable or likable. She doesn't want to share the formation tour or Renaissance tour videos. She wants to be left alone, and occasionally resurfaces to drop/sell something.

She didn't even care about the MET Gala, she said in the interview that she was there for Blue Ivy and to demonstrate her loyalty to Olivier hoetenks

If you want to stan artists that care and kiss up to their fans, ppl like Gaga and Taylor etc are still around and doing fan service daily

I personally have never said that Im confused, I just think very little of her "management" after she drops an album.

Just like others have said: Its not engaging whatsoever, its stale, its self-sabotating, its outdated and too slow (how singles and virality are handled), its unefficient and just overally kills any album "era".

For someone who once proclaimed she looks down upon single artists because they essentially dont go for longevity, she literally handles her eras the same way, just with albums.

"People dont make eras.. they dont make eras. They drop an album, and it burns out, and they drop a new album, and it burns out."

You see how that works.

kingdom with all due respect, why is every post from you in basé just attacking fans. You will ignore weeks of positive discussion, and the one moment when people are expressing frustration you come in with a holier than thou attitude telling them to go be fans of other artists.

Literally go through your post history and count how often you don't do the above... don't worry, you won't need more than one hand. The people you constantly come for are the only ones keeping basé alive, by all means if you hate a discussion topic feel free to start one of your own and we will be happy to engage

I want you to go back several pages..it is never really positive. I mean the woman literally gets body shamed (literally by @Kristie Kuwa ) here until it was called out. Sometimes reading the comments in here you would think gaga fans were the ones in here dragging her. it is a LOTTTTT of negativity and that is a FACT.

I will not deny that I indeed chose rather strong words to describe those unflattering looks in an attempt to be funny. Sometimes, these jokes land, sometimes they dont. I can admit that.

It is however not true that its mostly negative in here. Considering the fact theres really nothing to report, we actually manage to entertain ourselves quite well Id say. Theres clearly a lot of humor going on if ur able to read it like that. Also the MET appearance was met with positivity only.

It is however apparent that you are literally never present during the fun times and only reply when theres negativity. Maybe contribute more to the fun times?

Toxic positivity is also a thing. I don't think there's anyone here that doesn't love and care about her. But self sabotage is frustrating.

i think the opposite, lots of fans care about themselves and getting what they want from an artist, rarely caring about wellbeing of an artist. i see plenty of that in beyhive and in this thread as well.

Oh, but she surely does care about her fans' money, doesn't she?

We'll have the full picture regarding her plan soon anyway, although at this point her passiveness just rubs me the wrong way. You either fully believe in your work and do whatever it takes to prove the points you are trying to make, considering the aim of your project, or you stay at home. That's it.

Then again, she took home the trophies she was interested in, so maybe her strategy is not flawed after all michael

Conman Carter was an album for US only. Nobody outside the US gives a **** about country music or the politics behind the album. Outside of English speaking countries people don't even know what's she's singing about. As a whole, Beyonce is very US centric and her streams can only go so far. She chose to neglect everyone outside of US UK FR so let's all live with that. Promo excuse is just the tip of the iceberg.

True, and the situations won't improve with act III either.

RWT film being in theaters for a short period and then never getting any kind of other release was a very biblical kind of evil

no-nope.gif

I still haven't seen the film because my son was born two weeks before it premiered and it was gone before he was two months old, to my recollection. So the "making her art inaccessible" topic will always get to me.

Like I have your whiskey, I have your hair care, I have your athleisure, I have your limited vinyls, my son has been saying your name since he was one - but I can't legally stream your concert film? I've accepted that, but I'm also the bad guy for occasionally being annoyed at that? Because that's what the basé is saying coffee2

Though I agree let's not act like she doesn't have a HOST of content gathering dust in her vault that are simply a click of a mouse from being uploaded….she loves to sabotage by forcing her art to be exclusively tied to a multi million dollar deal or it won't be released. Whats the point of making so much content to shelf it…..

Yeah I mean this back and forth is pointless but let's not act like hitting upload on the Rennaisance tour film would be detrimental to her wellbeing in any way.

I was there and I agree that these eras were extremely frustrating but babes remember we had CONTENT and she was outside here and there. These days we get an album…..SILENCE for a year….she tours for 4-6 months and then SILENCE for another year.

The only content outside of that are high quality photos of the tour on her website and instragram. This formula is tired babes…

That user is just saying anything at this point rip

I'll 100% take 2013 (aka peakyoncé) for what we're having now.

Truth is: Prince's and Sade's approach SUCKED! Lbr.

Sure, in the end, a Prince mightve made more money like that or a Sade had a more peaceful life, but as a fan? Terrible.

Aint no one convincing me otherwise.

And while Bey pours her heart and expertise into her music (THANK GOD! And i will forever stan her for that), everything else is only focussed on maximum profit with doing next to nothing. Thats where her UNHEALTHY relationship to money and wealth shows and it SUX!
