My mom passed away last week. I know I mentioned her wanting to hear a Beyonce rock album as she has anticipated it for years, and I'm so sad she didn't get to hear it before she passed (if that's wha

I really hope we get it soon. My mom loves Beyonce, and her favorite genre is rock, she is SO excited. She just got diagnosed with terminal cancer, and I really hope she gets to hear the album while

IMO, the visuals are still coming and while I appreciate the tea, I'm slightly annoyed by the spoiler.

I just don't buy that she shot a ton of footage and threw it away. It's not Bey-coded nor is it fiscally smart.

It's way more believable that she a) has re-worked it (maybe due to dissatisfaction or other creative reasons) and b) will drop the end result of the re-tooled visuals when it makes the most sense.

I'm bracing for a film that encompasses all of the acts (reality being that it will be less a case every song having a video, but more of a best of the bunch, sewn together by a loose narrative). She loves her grandiose PR clippings, so I can already see the visuals arriving with terms like "5 years in the making...unprecedented...the latest chapter in her role as visual leader".

Every bit of tea we previously received made total sense. The streamers not biting at the time as it was too quirky. The reshoots (I'm literally not joking, but I was verbatim told a little about this offline. Friend of a friend vibes, but super legit, and I've mentioned as much as I can before). Etc.

Add to that the fact that it never would have served the trilogy rollout well to randomly drop visuals for Act II if the visuals for Act I weren't out.

Most likely, what happened is that not dropping Act I visuals (which she was still shooting after Rennie dropped btw) messed up her whole timeline for how and when the visuals overall would and could drop. I've always felt RWT was more of a contingency than a must and was possibly a placeholder for what could and should have been the era-ending drop of the visuals for Act I.

Now, she's probably further along in the visual process than before, hence why there's no CCT film (nor even a need for it).

With Act III near, it now benefits the entire trilogy to drop one all-encompassing film that makes it look like the behind-the-scenes chaos was her grand plan all along. And it will probably work.

IMO, all I need is for it to drop on Netflix (no nonsense with other platforms). If she goes the theater route again, then imma need a little more on the promo front. Especially if her box office numbers will be on front street.

hmmm perhaps it's in 3 more hours due to Yvette faxing the announcement from her office in Los Angeles

Cohen did not respond to multiple requests for comment, and the director's manager at Anonymous Content had no comment, referring ATL's inquiry to Parkwood, which also did not respond, nor did Beyoncé's personal publicist.

now we know for certain why Meg covered up part of Bey's note lol

I'm pretty sure at the time we were speculating in the base about whether she'd be in Church Girl or Thique

Am I misremembering that around the time that Rennie was in cinemas there were loads of articles about the visuals being shopped to different streamers (as well as the info that it was codirected by Nadia)? Like I swear that happened at some point unless I'm losing it.

You're absolutely right. I remember being so thankful, because it was so specific and came via a legit source. It gave some much-needed context to the clusterf*ck of confusion of what was going on.

The Hive confuses me sometimes, though, because they will melt down over crumbs and unsubstantiated speculation, but I remember the whole "streamers not biting tea" felt like it came and went without much fanfare. Definitely didn't feel like it stuck. IIRC, there even was some shooting down on some a**-kiss Hive vibe of: "don't believe it, which streamer would NOT buy Bey visuals" without factoring the reality that execs DGAF. It's a simple question of: does this work for a mass audience and is it worth the price being asked for? Can't speak to the former, but it's very easy to see where an impasse can arise if Bey wanted big bucks for something that potentially watches as niche-high-art (like a lot of Nadia's work).

Since then, it's been the rinse and repeat discourse of: I don't believe there are any visuals vs they are scrapped vs they are still coming.

I can vouch for you with the tea because we discussed it like over a year ago.

I'm not against the late release of the visuals (I am desperate tbh) but I would much rather she drops a three act trilogy of visuals instead of one frankensteined film. Every track on Rennie deserves a proper video. Every one.

It's actually quite amazing that by trying to kill one rumour she's awoken the internet

she's the equivalent of trying to put out a fire with gas

Lowkey uncomfortable with this... Don't spill the beans. Even if they are cancelled, I think one should wait till after the trilogy is over. B is very protective and this kinda ensures we wont get this

This whole 'if things leak Bey will cancel them' has literally never been true tho. We had reports she was filming Black is King videos and actual set leaks from the Spirit video before they released, and she told Raye on a red carpet very visibly that a Bigger video was shot.

She was filmed shooting multiple videos for Self-Titled and still went ahead with the project.

She's also confirmed that visuals are coming for Renaissance. She even dropped a trailer for them. She's put them in her tour. Nadia has posted about them. Syd has confirmed he's in them. The virgos groove video set leaks happened. None of what Barbie has said will impact whether or not we get the videos, even if there's some sort of contract violation here that means she'll be edited out of them (which tbh I still dont even think would happen).

Also on leaks, ST started to leak before the surprise drop. I had maybe half of the track list and I heard Haunted before it came out and her team were aware

I feel bad for people who worked on the visuals. Imagine landing that job and then never see it.

Nadia must also be very upset over it

Are we excited for the single this weekend? Because let be real, when's the last time we got a single on time? 4?

The bit about the platforms not biting for the visuals is true but it's a more complex situation than "we don't care about your visual album, ma'am".

Spill?

It was always obvious the visuals existed. We just didn't know what her plan was for the visuals but I always knew she would release them eventually despite whatever issue she had with them behind the scenes. It's been years and years and I know all of that **** is settled now. Bey is clearly going to release everything after act 3. Even if the plan was for her to release visuals separately for each act it's clear she is going to release all of the visuals together. The visuals will be the end of the whole trilogy.

Baby they can't afford it. Netflix and Amazon are the only two willing to spend big bucks on films and if they aren't willing to spend then she might as well launch Parkwood+

Pray tell! Very intrigued.

Total me-take here, but I feel it was/is salvageable.

Be that with a re-edit, Frankensteined film that now blends everything. Or going theater route first, making the bulk of the spend back, and then letting streaming be the second window that gives it wide/r reach and makes whatever the streamer is willing to pay less of a deciding factor.

We'll see.
