Idk - church girl's sin is the manic production. there's like two layers too many on that track. it's BDAY loud. I think the live version works for me because the live arrangement isn't competing with Bey's vocals (when Bey's live, her vocals always win out). Sometimes on the record her vocals and the production sound like theyre having a fight to be heard. Impeccable lyrics tho. It's a beautiful song.

If that's the case I'd expect the following; -B'Day Re-recording and re-release -Jay and Bey Mixtape (The Carters sequel - maybe an effort to redeem the poor reception of EiL? If the album is more of a classic BEYONCÉ sound and less Jay forward than EiL was (songs more aligned with Crazy, Deja, Upgrade etc) then maybe it would be ok? But I have ZERO patience for the billionaire boasting bullshit, and it'll likely cause major backlash if they lean into it. -Act iii as a separate but distinctly mainline project for her I kinda disagree. I get that a lot of potential hits were wasted on those two albums but Cuff It and Texas are both as essential to the GP as Irreplaceable and Formation. They were ginormous. Parkwood did not waste the potential of those Act I and II tracks.

Donk was never intended to be a mainline single or receive that kind of push, but Team Bey have a history of pushing tracks they didn't plan on pushing because of the momentum it received online. Cuff It is a prime example. I think let's see if it continues to perform well! But tracks like Beys Before I Let Go have charted consistently and received zero support from Parkwood so…let's not hold our breath.
