Wait... so my theory that it was supposed to drop November 29th last year may be true. Anyways, The Dream's been entangled in that legal mess since mid 2024, so it's probably not as last minute nor dramatic as he is making it seem.

Those accusations were made in summer 2024. Why would she wait 1.5 years before rescheduling act III?

I think that it wasn't a good choice to spread out the trilogy this much. A lot of things changed in the meantime and she had to rework the albums and change her vision. The material she has deals with the stuff that happened 4-5 years ago. We have new issues now and she's definitelly in the different state currently than she was when she did the trilogy. I mean, it's not exactly a bad thing. I just think that she should've probably put out all the albums by now and then be on a huge world tour for the trilogy

Tea, but Formation and Hold Up were really old songs before they made it on an album and absolutely felt current when they were released. Same for songs on Rennie and CC. Bey is a master of updating her songs and making them feel current the moment they are released.

True. She always makes it work. I just don't have any idea how everything will turn out and can't avoid overthinking these things

However, one mistake she definitely did was not releasing CCT film in December/January along with RWT film on streaming. She had enough time and we know she filmed everything

I hope she puts together a collection of everything released during the trilogy: albums, visuals, tour films and even bonus songs (including DELRESTO, sorry) and remixes. She'd earn a lot for that I'm sure and it would help her on the charts (not that she cares)

The Dream has been subtly teasing act iii in multiple recent interviews simultaneously while this court case is happening so that questions the validity of the timelines mentioned in the article or whatever that was.

I don't get how it would make sense he was removed from the project mostly or entirely and he would still be teasing it in interviews, without any vitriol or shade.

I will not be taking information released on April Fools with anything more than a grain of salt.

i disagree and this is presumptuous of you (you do not know her creative process).

CC was work in progress for years and yet album was released at the most perfect time ever. Just like lEMONADE, CC captures zeitgeist perfectly. No other album captures the America of today like CC, American requiem and Amen alone do the work. I have yet to find an album as complex and deep as CC that captures the political environment. Formation also heralded what was to come. Rena relese timing was perfect, just what the world needed.

Her timing is perfect, and it is less so about marketing strategy, it is about music that is timeless, as well as daring to discuss themes that have been put aside by *big( musicians. I wish there was more talk about how CC captures the America of today, same as the tour did.

At its foundation, it's a good album. There is great writing, beautiful melodies and some of her best lyrics.

Renaissance was similarly ambitious in its sonic scope, but its concept was much tighter. And then she added in narrative to the structure of the album, telling a story about love and betrayal and then also added in the concept of the Beyoncé radio station to navigate the genre shifts.

As always, my favourite thing about Beyoncé is her ambition. And I wouldn't really change CC as a consequence.

But it lacks that laser focus Renaissance had. It's more of an art project than an album.

I think one of my reflections is that Beyoncé's art is often more impactful when she has to operate within constraints of some kind. Whether that be time, resources, or concept.

Interesting seeing everyone's CC takes.

I will always appreciate it in context (i.e. trilogy exploring different genres and an arguably necessary MPG sound shift, as is needed to stay fresh), but I don't see it being an album I revisit for eons to come (save for select songs).

I'll take a step further and add that I personally don't think SHE will revisit much of the material either. In general and especially when she settles into her legacy act bag.

I just don't see a world where the likes of Texas sit in a "conventional Beyonce show" when she moves past her Country foray.

It's a strong project and I love the piece of the puzzle it forms in the context of the trilogy and the added glow it gives her career as an innovator and overall risk-taker. Plus, it will forever be THE album that broke the Grammy Album of the Year curse. It absolutely has its place in history and her history more specifically, I think its biggest drawback (which isn't one at all, btw) is simply that it's not "canon Beyonce" when one thinks of her musically, visually, brand-wise, etc. And that's...ok.

As for the Act III thing, it sounds...true.

I absolutely felt The-Dream's situation would be problematic for the project when it happened, and I hate this for Bey.

(FYI, I'm not commenting on the validity of the claims because there simply isn't the detail nor the irrefutable proof on either side yet, so very much in a headspace of let's wait and see. But I just dislike how stuff totally unrelated to her affects... her. Because you just know that the blood-hungry haters are ready to pounce with the "she went out of her way to work with an abuser" BS, even in knowing the music was recorded before.

Though it shouldn't and probably wouldn't, those kinds of things can seriously impact an album from the jump.)

On a more positive note, I believe @Teneo's take which is that it's probably not to the level of doom and gloom the report makes out.

The Dream thing, IIRC, was almost a year ago. I'd bet any re-tooling would have started probably even before the lawsuit was announced (as a lot of prelitigation happens in private before hitting the newswire. So, she/her team probably been knew).

What I'm more intrigued about is how those convos happen behind the scenes. Yes, they're all close, but he will have to know that there is a brand and image that must be upheld first and foremost. So, even assuming he's innocent, how awkward must that be, having to publicly dissociate?

Anyway, what was written about Act III sounds pretty exciting.
