She launched CC at the Super Bowl and then launched the tour with the NFL performance. But even that wasn't enough to sustain the record beyond a strong first week and ticket sales for CCWT were more sluggish than RWT.

ya exactly, so I'm asking why would it matter if "hype can't sustain her anymore" if she doesn't care about promo at all beyond launch? I've never argued she's going to surprise release with nothing but hype, just that we shouldn't see the Met Gala as immediate reason to believe she's launching before (or even right after).

this isnt 2013 though, miss girl doesn't leave the house these days unless a check is involved. she has slowed down a LOT, and has stated how much more intentional she is with her brand and exposure. so i truly don't think she would show up and co-chair the met gala unless she needed to be seen at a high profile event. especially since its been a decade since she was last there and had one of the most show-stopping looks.

Ofc she will promote something, it just might not be act-iii cuz she knows people will be expecting it. I think swissman isn't saying it WILL happen, but that there is an honest possibility that she will do the thing she always does... build 'hype' through doing something unexpected (and getting us irritated and buzzing and doubting). And it is totally possible she cares to do something a bit different for the final act in its lead-up. Especially cuz her randomly doing the MET after ages, around the time we expect Act-iii reads era launch/promo

I'm with you, nothing she has done for any of the acts "made sense". Her going to the MET to give Julez a boost is much more realistic than her launching her album campaign

I'm still upset at Tyrant being the smash that got away

except that we find ourselves in this situation ever since ST and her antics

Tyrant should've been her Drunk in Love

Beyoncé: The Coulda, Shoulda and Woulda - a Beyhive documentary

The good thing about it is it hasn't exactly hindered her in a meaningful way.

She's blocked so many hits but is still able to get them when she gives them a fair chance, and she's probably the only pop girl in history to not have hits for a ~decade and only grow in relevance and general appreciation while not being seen as a flop (except by rival stanbases who wish she was seen as one).

I know. I am glad she doesn't listen to the hive for career advice. But the joke still stands... we've been looking at the hits that got away for 12+ years now

I hope Act3's final song makes me ball my eyes out. I kind of need Bey to deliver a way better I Was Here - A true hymn, a farewell to the trilogy, a MOMENT. A song of a lifetime

Bey is going to be CO-Chair at the Met Gala to promote. Whether it's an album, Clothing brand or family venture she is trying to plug it's still her promoting. Jesus take the wheel at the stupid topics

Honestly, the fact that we even know ACT III exists is way more than we could've said pre Rennie and even going into ACT II. It wasn't explicitly confirmed to be a studio album. Some folks fully believed it was a tour/visual album/live element.

Sit tight babes, we'll be just fine!

Cause once it's all over, the drought after the trilogy will be exponentially worse! A year in between tour and new album will seem like a blessing!

Janet fans have been waiitng 6 years for an announced and postponed album. It could literally be worse.

Beyonce that's why you're Beautiful sounds so sad to me. I feel like the vibe of the song would be perfect for a tribute for a deceased person.

The only reason why I want Beyonce to go all out this era is because I know for a fact she will be taking a long break from music after this. I'm not saying she is retiring but I don't see her releasing another album in 2 years after act 3. I just think Beyonce don't like the industry tbh.

Rare 2002 performance of Dangerously in Love during a Destiny's Child tour circa Survivor era:

I'm actually not expecting a long drought after the trilogy concludes. Bey said she wrote and conceived the trilogy during the pandemic, and obviously I know that doesn't mean all three albums have been done since 2020, duh, but it likely means she's had a vision for all of them since then, and she's spent the last 5 years actualizing that vision.

Even if she doesn't care about promo or visuals or keeping the fans fed (clearly she doesn't, and good for her), she's still a creative at heart and has spoken about the studio being her happy place many times. I don't think she's gone 5 whole years without thinking about what she's going to do next musically, and I imagine she's itching for this trilogy to be done with so she can get started on it, if she hasn't already.

Or maybe I'm delusional. I guess we'll find out!

Exactly. They lack common sense. Bey hasn't been there in 10 years. Trust it's for a reason.

If we're being honest, Kelly is the one from DC who deserves the "not that bright" drags, not Bey. Also, while I'm at it, Britney and Christina can barely put a sentence together, but Beyoncé was the pop star being called stupid for carefully thinking through what she had to say. Wonder why?

Aside from the racism, part of this is that people like Wendy loved saying she "sounds uneducated" and "reads like a fourth grader" in both her radio and TV show. With draggy girls and catty gays need something to use against her, they just use Wendy's words regardless of how untrue it is. Beyoncé can't articulate in a live setting not because she can't, but because she's nervous. She's a shy girl. We know this. They know this. You can see this in her off-stage demeanor. For all her confidence on stage and on screen, she lacks in one-to-one interviews. She does a lot better in more controlled settings, where she can take breaks or reshoot as necessary.
