All the negative ATRL reviews and it's not even out. Going in with average expectations if I make it up till release time.

whenever ATRL hates something it's usually a good sign that it's good dies

I love Madison—so, so much. I always have very high expectations for her. But her albums always have too much filler, too many slow songs that don't really add anything (just my personal opinion, of course). Yes Baby, to me, is creative, sexy, and captivating. I wish there had been more of that. Still, I bought the album—always supporting Madison.

She really loves her indie ballads even though she has all it takes to become a full-on popstar

"yes, and" and "make you mine" are excellent. I can take "bittersweet" which is a good mix of synthpop and ballad. But the rest, esp that Billie cosplay rip

I thought she found a perfect sound with Home to Another One but she hasn't released anything else like it noparty

"Make you mine" is a natural evolution from "Home to Another One". I thought she finally found her lane but she took 3 steps back deadbanana2

  1. bittersweet

  2. Home to Another One

  3. 15 Minutes

  4. Make You Mine

  5. Yes, Baby

  6. bad enough (as the fodder ballad)

There you go Madison, just add 5 more tracks and you have a solid album

Yeah she'll never really go anywhere always releasing faceless ballads. Idk why she wants that to be her sound

Wrong pop girl

locket theme
angel wings
bad enough
healthy habit
complexity
yes baby
15 minutes
all at once
make you mine

an album clap3

Tbh I can't even blame her for not having many uptemos in the album. yes, baby has only 32M streams while Bittersweet has over 100M despite being released later, the GP simply has shite taste in her songs giraffe

Hate to say it but disappointed. The singles weee fantastic. Every album track feels like it has a solid base, but fails to deliver in a satisfying way. I was hoping to like at least a few after how much I've loved the singles

I enjoyed the album a lot. I don't really mind the length. I feel like the album is very cohesive. Y'all were talking about the album like there were only ballads, which is not the case. The album gives you a little bit of everything and it doesn't come off as boring.

I read her autobiography (lol) that came out a few years ago where she says she grew up listening to the vocal divas and ballads and that her heart would always lie in singing that type of music. I just wish she'd switch it up a bit, at least give us some poppier/power type ballads or something instead of the minimalist dreamy stuff all the time.

I do love bittersweet bc it has more of a pop/synthy production

but of course, I want the deluxe thing to be true.

I haven't listened to a full length of hers since Life Support, I had high hopes after yes, baby and make you mine and thought the early year release would be advantageous, but…

I think it's just about the same as usual with her, but complexity is also a banger. If it keeps her afloat and her fans like it, I'm not one to judge. She at least has a thing she's sticking to even if it's not for me generally.

Sweet Relief is the perfect lane for her is she doesn't wanna become a EDM diva but these ballads..

congrats she managed to make the same album 3 times...

This is a very... okay album, there's not a bad song per se

But just to think of her potential to fill a gap currently not occupied on the pop scenario that we've seen on Make You Mine, 15 Minutes and All At Once... ugh it just makes me sad that she wants to throw it all away to make an album full of "Reckless"es

But Angel Wings, You're Still Everything and Complexity were really great

I love Madison but man… she needs a stronger identity and I think songs like yes baby/make you mine/complexity really help her shine and define her sound. Especially Make You Mine, that was a big moment for her, I think she had caught people's attention cause her voice came through really clear for once.

Angel baby and for the night both sound almost identical to Ari and Billie respectively. I'm not even trying to compare, they are literally mimicries of these women vocally and sonically, it's borderline uncanny.

I think Madison just needs to dig deep. It's obviously she's inspired by a mainstream sound but might not know how to differentiate what she wants to show with heavy inspirations, so she leans on her vocals and pushes out these faceless ballads instead to avoid veering too far into tribute act territory. She has the talent, she just needs to find what she wants to do with it.

This is a big downgrade from Silence Between Songs for me, but it would have been hard for her to top that - its one of my personal standouts of 2023. I'm not sure how I feel about it... I doubt I will revisit it to decide. I like locket theme, but I think its mostly because it sounds like an Ariana song.

standout tracks for me:

yes baby

angel wings (very ariana grande positions vibes)

bad enough

bittersweet

you're still everything

Complexity

Make you mine

Nothing at All

Overall the album was decent, could've been much more stronger. I wished she explored more her pop side, and kept it 2-3 ballads per album. The album feels very oversaturated with slow tempo songs.

I do think her and her team did and amazing job choosing the singles, they were definitely the best in the album.

So excited for her to promote this album, I hope to see her live one day.

I saw a tiktok the other day asking why is she trying to be the girl next door so hard when she looks that hot. She should be serving thank u next both in image and music. There a huge audience for music like that

A little disappointed but still good. I love Madison and her dreamy sound, I think her debut album is still her strongest body of work overall, home to another one might be her best song (or white rabbit)

Overall I like most the songs from this album, I didn't like yes baby when it was a single but I like it more in the flow of the album. The only song I need to give a few more listens to see if it clicks is for the night.

My fave from this project is still bittersweet but nothing at all is a close second for me

I saw that too and completely agreed

I think the dreamy/dull Ariana/Lana-lite ballad sound is who she really is. That's why she's insisted upon it for multiple albums now. I don't think she's as good at dance music as the gays think she is. Yes Baby is really bad and repetitive. rip

I liked this a lot more than I thought I would! I prefer this over Silence Between Songs, I really didn't like that album. Life Support remains her best though
