Madison Beer - 'locket'

Her biggest miss for me is her aesthetic, it makes me feel like I'm listening to some soulless instagram influencer music, that some white girl i went to high school and bullied me with would listen to.

Some of y'all still thinking she'll go full dance diva despite her saying over and over again it won't happen it's just rip it's pretty clear where her heart is.

After many listens I'd say my current top 3 is you're still everything, complexity and nothing at all (bad enough and angels wings would finish the top 5). So proud of her for staying true to herself and releasing another great album clap3 first day streams are really good so let's hope it's only up from here

I actually agree with this take.

I've been a fan of Madison since Dead, but she's always felt like she's still searching for a clear identity. The girl-next-door persona doesn't quite align with how effortlessly glamorous she is, and that disconnect can be distracting.

At times, her music also feels so influenced by her inspirations that it seems more like she's stepping into a role than fully owning her own lane. for the night is a great example of this. It's a beautiful song, but it leans so heavily into Billie's sound that the influence is impossible to ignore.

My top picks from the new tracks, in no particular order:

  1. you're still everything

  2. complexity

  3. bad enough

  4. angel wings

Hearing make you mine after a long time it kinda made little noslogic even though it's not even 2 years old yet. It's a nice song.

I expect this type of sound from her and i think it is fitting for her. From the first listen i like angel wings and for the night. Also like complexity and think its a bop here.

Yes baby, bittersweet and make you mine in my fav list already since they are singles and i played them for sometimes so focusing on new songs. Gotta do a few more listens.

I stan this album now. It's just strong pure pop music. I love the dreamy, coquette vibes too. I ordered a pink vinyl. alexz3

honestly i dont understand why she never became a Jessica Alba/Megan Fox. you dont need acting talent for it and it would instantly make her so much more famous. her music is not bad and she can sing but as you say she's never had it fully worked out. she must have had so many offers for modelling and tv appearances etc that she's turned down.

On first listen this was a bit underwhelming, and I say this as a stan, but I'm glad I waited to comment, because this album quickly grew on me SO MUCH smitten

angel wings and complexity are my faves out of the new songs, but bad enough and you're still everything are amazing too!

for the night has been probably the biggest grower for me - didn't care for it at all on first listen, but now I'm kind of obsessed smitten

Complexity is pretty much of an updated rehash of Dead. Best thing on here other than the singles.

so you rather her have an aesthetic like this: 250px-Dianasolo.jpg ?

Also that's projection hunny, her having a pretty girl aesthetic does not harm you, it's your own thoughts doing that. The music should comes first anyways, if you like the music, just deal with the aesthetics wtf no one cares about who bullied you in school a decade ago, how about MOVING ON

yeah, i've been listening to this today and the vibe i get from her is not cheerleader jock at all lmao. i do have issues with how much she leans on other artists' sounds at times but the personality that comes thru in the lyrics i think is quite personal and vulnerable. i guess if you feel like that then you might want to present as hot as you can to take a bit of confidence from it

Yeah, I agree. I wish she'd fully leaned into being this cunty siren for the girls and gays, but I think she and her team are probably worried about the "mean girl" backlash. Some artists can pull off that balance though like Britney, or even Tate where they have that duality of a sexy performer and a more relatable, everyday persona. Madison is just so beautiful that even barefaced she still looks drop-dead gorgeous. Not the worst problem to have lol.

  1. locket theme

  2. for the night

  3. angel wings

  4. yes, baby

  5. 15 minutes

  6. healthy habit

  7. you're still everything

  8. bittersweet

  9. complexity

  10. make you mine

  11. all at once

  12. nothing at all

I'm using this, works pretty well to me, these two perfectly balances the absence of more uptempo songs on the original tracklist. Sorry for the "bad enough" erasure but it's the only song I dislike here, but if you like it, maybe put it between "you're still everything" and "bittersweet"

I love what we got, really glad she didn't go full dance diva, I don't like that sound and I like the gentler direction for her. I love how "Complexity" marries the two and I think it's the best song on here.
