No one is rejecting it. Alot of people dont know that its out. The release is rushed and she's being overshadowed by bigger releases. That doesn't change the fact that the music is objectively good.

Also, likely ppl weren't checking for JT performance because it simply made no noise prior to performance either.  YT algorithm not gonna give it more visibility if no one has been searching for the song in the first place.

To be honest my main gripe with this album is the fact that it should be getting the attention, success and acclaim that I Am The Drama is getting. Especially when this is objectively the better album. Featuring the better legitimate rapper and objectively better artist smfh

 

Other things that they can plan 

 

Hot Pink Deluxe on its anniversary 

• add Freak to the album officially 

• Pretty Girls as well

• Boom Boom featuring Nicki Minaj would actually be 🔥

Give the fans what they want and release Shots, Crack, Ain't News, Dirty Underground

- 

Also go back to doing more featured in the meantime just to get her back out there in people's good graces again.

Cardi literally did everything…all major daytime and late night shows, radio interviews, major partnerships (Amazon drones, DoorDash), in-store signings, pregnancy reveal, Twitter beef with JT/Nicki, major collaborations, Call Her Daddy, etc).  
 

Doja, like always, is acting like she's above the shameless promo…and it's hurting her.  
 

tbh I would think that's been more damaging to her career than her antics or switching genres.  People don't know who she actually is…outside of trolling online…partly because she's not vulnerable nor wants to put herself out there and promote so she doesnt look desperate.    
 

But it's kind of silly to do all of this great creative work, but then let the internet narratives run your entire image. 
 

So in a way…you're kind of right about the antics.  But it's like a dual issue: the antics, but also not being visible and willing to promote…which allows ppl to create their own narrative.

^And also…letting TikTok run her success.  There's no reason why her career should be so reliant on trends to get her name out there. It's like the third part of the problem.  
 

But it's all interconnected I guess is the bottom line.  
 

But the core (music, visuals) are always good, and what usually saves her in the end…once it does catch on.  

So far, everything in this era is beautiful, coherent, and makes me feel happy, loved, and fulfilled. Long live Vie!

But they are rejecting it.. it's true that a lot of people don't know that she has an album out, but also the people who did give it a listen didn't stay. Gorgeous is out of the top 200 and doing 900k streams when it just debuted with 2M 2 days ago. Same thing with jealous type which was out of the charts while being #1 on the biggest spotify playlist. If something doesn't go viral her album will be out of the billboard charts in 3 weeks, a Miley Cyrus type of bomb. It's good that there will be a live on tiktok today cause tiktoki is the only platoform that can save this album unfortunately. I don't understand why she hasn't posted about the album or the two music videos that she just dropped on tiktok since that's always been her biggest platform. Every artist uses tiktok to promote their music but for some reason she thinks she's above that.. like there's not any good reason why she hasn't posted the video snippets of the songs that were dropped leading to the album release, that could have helped. And she still hasn't posted any other video using the songs from her album

I hope she never works with jack ever again, his sound is just simply too dated

you can make an 80s inspired album and still make it sound new like future nostalgia or the weeknd

this just doesn't stick with me minus 2 songs

I think some people rejected JT, just given it did well on radio…but didn't reflect on streaming despite all they did on playlisting (eventually).  
 

But idk if we have enough evidence people are rejecting everything on the album, at least not yet.  
 

If you're not top of mind, people will forget to come back to it…even if they checked it out once or twice and thought it was good.

For example, I LOVE this group RM47 (sound similar to Kaytranada, Kelela, Rochelle Jordan)…great music.  But they aren't as promoted…so I tend to forget to revisit it.  Tbh the same with Rochelle too.  
 

Idk…maybe I just got a short attention span …but artists need to be in my face in order for me to remember to return to it on a consistent basis.  

If she wants to do a deluxe she needs to go ahead and call up fellow 80s inspired queens Carly Rae and Sky Ferreira to get the indie gays back on board.

When I listen to just one song and not the whole album, I find I like the songs more. I think it's that, for me, a lot of the songs start to mesh together and I'm not giving each their time to dissect and pick up on what I like about them. The same initially happened with Renaissance only for that album to end up being one of my all time favorites once I took the time to listen to each song individually. 

 

This morning, One More Time is taking me there. Gorgeous fully clicked with me yesterday. Cards hit me the day before that. This album is growing on me but it's not something I can sit and listen to the whole way through. It's better in doses.

 

I think Stranger is a bad idea for another single though, I don't like the rap verse much.. feels a little tacked on. 

the last album i listened to this much was Alligator Bites Never Heal

 

and before that it was Hit Me Hard And Soft

 

just floored, it's crazy.

but I will really, categorically, be really upset if Stranger is the last single/visual from this.

will be an absolute waste just to please a group that went hard for it.
