The American government intentions are entirely centered on consolidating more power and wealth. Improving the lives of Venezuelans is not the goal. This is not liberation, this is a means to make a profit and to continue to grasp whatever is left of its crumbling empire. I don't particularly care for idol groups these days so most of this debate does nothing for me lmao. However, I personally don't see how Kpop Demon Hunters benefits Kpop in any way considering most of the success is going to an American based company, no? But then again that's nothing new for K-pop artists (more so idols) to get the monetary short end of the stick. As someone who used to actively follow the K-pop scene, there hasn't really been any K-pop act that has caught my attention this year (Style by H2H was cute tho). In terms of Jpop, the Kenshi Yonezu and Utada Hikaru collab, Jane Doe, is pretty much one of my most played songs this year.

I don't necessarily get the costume change criticism. She didn't do any costume changes for her last tour or even her festival runs during the Planet Her era. She's only done that for Coachella from what I've seen. People set themselves up for disappointment in that regard, why expect something different?

On the topic of authenticity... One thing I can't quite understand is people calling her inauthentic for going back to pop music. While I understand how it looks hypocritical given her past comments, especially if you're not in the know of who makes what. A decent amount of her biggest hits were produced by Dr. Luke (if we are to believe the things he is credited on is true) and after her twitter meltdown over "mediocre pop music" she hasn't worked with him since. If she went back to doing music with him, THEN that would be purely inauthentic from my point of view. I can't help but miss Yeti Beats though, I do hope they work together again, they make a good duo.

The idea that he went through all the trouble of sanding a part of the collar down and covering it with electrical tape just to cover up shocking his dog seems a bit silly when you remember he's literally a millionaire. A week has passed and I'm still bumping this frequently. It's a strong album that's unfortunately been overshadowed/released way too late in the year. If they really wanted a Fall release then I feel that Jealous Type should've been released in early summer with Stranger following it up, and then Gorgeous being released with the album. However, I'm sure in the standard Doja fashion something will pick up whether that's in a few weeks, months... or years (Been Like This picking up 4 years later... ). I'm looking forward to where Doja goes next. My ranking in no particular order within each group (subject to change).

A bit of an essay, but I never really understood the glaze Planet Her gets. It may just be people remembering the songs with better times perhaps? But I've never found myself revisiting the album in it's entirety too much. Options, Ain't ****, and Kiss Me More are the songs I find myself revisiting years later. I will say the delivery on her raps overall on Planet Her and Hot Pink is a little more dynamic than what we received on Vie. For example, Need To Know has a relatively basic booty ass beat but her delivery is what made the song so much fun. So in conclusion, Scarlet is still her best album and it's kinda mind boggling seeing how many people are now talking about it due to this new release. Well those who are talking about it who happen to know she has released something new....

After the first spin, Scarlet may still be my favorite album from her still, granted I prefer her rapping (whether it's over a pop, rap, or R&B beat) over her singing.
