Since her "awkward" fan moment last night to the entire SHE IS COMING era, mileys career has always been a mess (well post 2013)

however recently, she has been AWOL from performing live, including the AMAs last week and pretty much every other award show throughout the 2020s (minus the grammys) Her last 3 albums have been cash grabby & GP friendly, but nothing seems to stick! Has she been sent to Ch0p for the rest of eternity due to her recent vocal issues? 


I was just watching her interview with Apple and she seemed so sure of herself as an artist. She sounded so mature and knowledgeable (as she usually does) but something felt different this time.

 

but with the recent album receiving mixed reviews...could this new direction she's taking be a downgrade to her artistry?  

has the 3 (three) grammys gotten to her head & made her lose her touch? Has her career been f***ed from the start? Why does every label fail to promote the Disney diva?

She actually has 3.

I've seen people comparing her trajectory to Cher and they certainly have a point. If you take a look at Cher's discography wiki page she has like 40 albums. Most of them are random bombs no one remembers, others spawned a few hits and others were massive successes. If Miley keeps releasing music at the same pace she has done her entire career so far, by the time she's 70 her wiki page will be filled with albums of varied commercial success too. I'm sure she'll have her moment again somewhere down the line as long as she remains passionate and creative.

well she definitely gifted us something but we kept the receipt and shipped it back

 

 

I love the album. Amazing fresh production, amazing vocals. Great bops, great ballads. Tens across the board. This is a Plastic Hearts situation. F*** the charts and just enjoy the music. 

The genre changes every era have hindered her from having a proper fanbase. It feels like she's still searching for her sound. People might connect with a certain album of hers, but if she just switches it up an does something completely different the next era, those people aren't going to stick around.

First of all, the awful mixing… Sorry, but we ain't in the 1960s

 

 

I mean it's not as experimental as Dead Petz but I fail to see how Something Beautiful is GP-friendly or cash grabby

The album is fantastic & shows artistic growth. She deserves so much more & i really hope the sales/reviews doesn't ruin her self confidence. 
 

I love Miley & will always support what her name is attached too.

Something Beautiful is Miley's best album by far and one of the best and most interesting pop albums I've heard in a while. That's probably what went wrong.

Literally all Miley needs to do is quit giving interviews and go on tour.

I don't think I would describe Miley's recent output as cashgrabby.

Ok but Taylor had like 3/4 country eras before going pop. She established a core fanbase before switching genres. Miley doesn't keep a genre for more than one era. It was clear people connected with the rock sound of Plastic Hearts and then she abandoned that for the semi generic pop sound of ESV

She tried to be artsy and failed and it's always the same with her. Dead pets is also mid. 

Her best album is PH. Just a cohesive pop rock album with no pretension

It would be seen less of a bomb if she went on tour, but given her health issues, it's highly unlikely, she said it herself. It would let her build the much needed base to have a steady "income" of streams.

Please, Something Beautiful and Plastic Hearts are fantastic projects. The new album is phenomenal. The Northern Hemisphere really is something else...

Idk which is more insane, the OPs formatting or calling Somethings Beautiful cash grabby

It's a fantastic album, her best, and the second best album of the year so far behind A6. Miley will be fine and always remain a respected icon.

The #1 issue with Miley's career is that she hasn't toured in over a decade. Tours are a huge part of pop culture now, they're an important way to turn casual listeners into fans & maintain a dedicated fanbase that will stream your new music.

 

She simply hasn't created a space for people to come together and celebrate her music in a long time, and it's ultimately hurting her in the long run.

I blame the veneers. And they also had her looking a fool on the cover, made me not want to play the album at all.
