Well.... if all 4 are excellent top notch state of the art songs maybe she'll at least be able to push the album from a 3/10 to a 5/10

This album is SOOOYYYYYY GEWWWWD when you don't have an annoying alt pop gay in your ear whining about it being trash been having so much fun with it

I feel like the only reason she signed with another label is that while, yes, she could fund an era independently, she's probably just too damn lazy to organize all the stuff around it like vinyl pressings and co. She probably said "ok if another label feels like backing another of my albums cool, less for me to do" and called it a day

I'd rather take millie flopping for eternity with dignity than her running back to Dr Luke for a Party in the USA rehash

I'd be fine with anything but watered down top40 pop like she tried with Confident and DWYDTAOSO (which were borderline terrible). TYLM, INTD and HF were all excellent. So either go deeper on one of those sounds or try something totally new.

As someone working in journalism "sources say" and then not citing ... a single source... is death punishment behavior to me But no probably not true.

Like... we're on Tuesday of the release week and.... it's absolutely dead. Like this is absolutely insane she even stopped posting about the songs on Instagram. It's like she wants to perform even worse than she would already do. Which... fine I guess... again I don't really care about the numbers but if she didn't want to promote/do appearances/perform etc why did she even sign with another label she could've easily fund this album herself and pull those brand deals on board to basically not lose any money

I think miley stans might just be some of the most critical stans around when it comes to their favorite artist you just seem parasocial and mad that artists don't adjust to your expectations

After sitting some days on this and logging out from here to digest this in peace, this is really quite a gorgeous body of work. Like all songs on here range from good (Let's get married) to all time best material (redlights, different religion). It's too short, yeah, but I've grown to accept it. Adding Smile and deleting the remix the album still clocks in at 37 minutes, that's slightly longer than Meet Miley Cyrus (33 minutes, also 10 songs) and just slightly shorter than the 39 minutes of Plastic Hearts with 12 songs

This could just as well be the label caring to get as much out of her product as possible while at the same time allowing her to do the things she wants to. Both of these things can be true simultaneously: her not really caring and just wanting to make the music she wants to make and the label allowing it, while also wanting to make a profit out of it. Yall are super weird thinking most of these label made decisions directly translate to what the artists want or try to achieve it's like pop history and its repeated differences between artists and their labels have taught yall nothing

The amount of losers downvoting posts that say she has achieved everything there is to achieve and how they like her too much and thus there is no reason to drag her for flopping like... some of yall get seriously pissed when others don't exhibit the same amount of loser behavior as yourselves

OK but even if she cares, why do people on here (both the ones that like her and the ones that dislike her) care so much It's just weird behavior for grown up people to do

Like my other favorite artist is Taylor and the last time I got any validating feeling out of her arguably being the biggest musician of all time i was like 16 Like i just don't get it but no one ever answers the question why they care so much. I fear they realize it's kinda insane behavior the moment they take second to reflect on it and then decide to ignore it
