I'm not doubting Mimi's selling power but when did she put out 35+ albums, EPs, mixtapes, compilations, etc?

What makes a song "of its time"?
For example, I wasn't born in the 80s but I can immediately clock a stereotypical 80s song due to the vocal production and instrumentation. But I feel like teenagers today would have a hard time identifying a late 00s/early 10s song due to how advanced studio technology already was back then. While trends have significantly changed, Party Rock Anthem, I Gotta Feeling, Raise Your Glass, etc don't sound like they were recorded in someone's basement. They could very well be produced today and the quality of the recordings would be the exact same. Unless I'm entirely out of touch and kids today can immediately tell that they're all old ass songs.. In which case, what are the giveaways? Discuss.
