I understood the letdown of showgirl, I haven't listened to the whole thing in months, but these songs are good I really dont get it

Pink clouding sounds like a 1989 lover song, babylon sounds like a red track, patient zero is apparently really liked lol, and shes just being a goof (herself) on Cleveland which actually sounds like a showgirl tune.

Its like everyone gets even more upset that she doesn't care about all the discourse and does her thing. This is her job, she likes it, she isnt always going to make a masterpiece after 20 years when shes already pumped out red, 1989, evermor, folklore, speak now, and ttpd. Like give the woman a break to make goofy pop

I'm kind of wrestling with how I feel exactly with my reception to it, mostly because of what you mentioned in this section. I was hoping the new tracks would elevate how I feel about the album as a whole and enhance the experience, but it seems like a separate mixtape of sounds that, while I enjoy, mostly reminisce older albums I like.

The folkmore elitists are one of the worst things to happen to this fandom imo
and i'm like 100% sure IF she released folkmore 3.0 people would call it boring/mid anyways etc

personally in the future (like 10-15 years for now) more folkmore type albums would be great (fictional writing will be a great way for her to keep writing songs even if there isnt much she wants to write about in her life) but for now i definitely either want the return to country or something completely unexpected like rock for the next album

Patient Zero sounds like solid big radio dazzling song.

But Pink Clouding is like the best song of all time I think.

Showgirl will never be a good album not even in 20 years. It will in fact be more hated and shitted on. Folkmore Stans, like Taylor fans in general, are fans of GOOD MUSIC

She deff chose the right lead single cuz Patient Zero's chorus has been on repeat in my head. I think the radio edit will also eat cuz it might chop a bit of the clunky bridge which actually does work well as a spoken word moment BUT is too long and run on imo. If they manage to edit out some parts of it and still make it make sense then that would be awesome!

I think she should've cancelled the deluxe just like what she did with lover deluxe, 'cause in people's minds, Showgirl is her worst album now (Lover used to)
She should've released debut tv instead and people would love her again, still can't believe she won't release debut tv for its 20th anniversary
