Now it feels almost impossible to have that kind of conversation because every release immediately gets flooded with people desperately trying to be Pitchfork critics, acting like their personal opinion is somehow an objective assessment of her artistry.

Yeah of course people can dislike the songs and nobody is saying everyone has to love everything she releases, but there's such a huge difference between saying "oh yeah this isn't for me" and acting like "oh no these songs are objectively bad" "she needs to take a break" "she's lost it" "as a swiftie i'm growing out of her" etc etc etc....Like… no...YOU don't like them, but your personal reaction is not some definitive statement about the quality of the music???? Meanwhile, I genuinely think these songs are great, and more importantly, they fit so naturally into the TLOAS world. They don't feel random or disconnected from the album at all. If anything, hearing them makes the whole era feel even bigger and more complete to me. They have that same theatrical, colorful, exaggerated energy that makes TLOAS so fun.

But yes, overall, the Deluxe elevates the album for me as well. Especially Patient Zero and Babylon it's still nothing I'm losing my stan mind over but it's definitely nice to always have something new from her

Cleveland lowkey starting to hit now that I'm awake and it isn't 6AM anymore. That chorus is just so pleasing.

Patient Zero is also one of her best pop singles. Doesn't enter the pop pantheons of 13/10s like Blank Space and such, but still a very great 10/10 from me. I cannot get that violin outside my head. But it's only a wonderful bridge away from reaching the highest highs.

I hope the other 2 will grow on me because they seem to be some of the fandoms favorites but so far they do nothing for me. It's not like I hate them either, but they are just kinda there for me.

It's been a cycle ever since Midnights. Must it not feel exhausting to always be disappointed by Her? Just block Her atp.........

First reaction readings of each song

• Patient Zero: Cute. I assume this is (in part) about her consoling Sophie Turner after the breakup with Joe Jonas? And that book she likes? Also I can already see the entire music video in my head. Very solid single choice.

• Cleveland: The is the most Jack Antonoff-esque Max Martin song I've ever heard. If I had a nickel for every New Heights lyric on this album...

• Pink Clouding: Lover/Midnights serve? Took me a second listen but I guess it's a composite sketch about recklessly jumping into relationships while still affected by past ones, and pondering the effects she had on those men years later? (Bleachella, 2023)

• Babylon: I don't know how to process this but it's very pretty

I'm happy with this. It feels a lot more relaxed and quality-consistent than the standard album

Totally. we shouldn't shut up anyone who dislike a song, but it feels like most of the hate is not based in any constructive criticism. for example I am not a fan of TTPD. it's a great album but not for me. I fel it's overhyped by the swifties. NOT OVERRATE. but overhyped. but this is just me. to each his own. I don't like her work with Jack. i'm tired of it. i'm tired of these 80s synths.. but I guess most of the swifties love it and wants her to be miserable. they do want her happy, but they only want her work to be miserable.

it's all "this is trash" I firmly believe no matter what Taylor would release they will find a way to mock her. and not in a way where you HAVE to love everything she does. no. they're just hating to hate because they hate that she's so successful. they truly don't understand how and why she's so successful and their fav isn't. Every time we get new Taylor music, my first listen is eh, meh, I don't know then on 2nd and 3rd listen it connects with. love the encore.

Babylon is better than The Prophecy.... I've always found the latter to be quite overrated...........
