At a certain point, you have to realize that 80% of the hate around here is totally detached from the music. If she had released this in 2020 people would already be saying it was a discography highlight. Really gorgeous song.

the drum loop really diluted this it was so unnecessary. TTPD lacked drums and this album has too much

I forgot that this existed. Castle crumbling, Timeless, I can see you are my favs. Electric touch is fine too.

I understand why people don't like Cleveland, but it's undeniable that that sort of song is found all over her discography. It's fun, catchy, and silly. Obviously not for everyone, but Taylor LOVES writing those.

Patient Zero is a quality pop song. Cool, relatable premise, too. Pink Clouding is quality synth pop. Babylon is a RTF level gem.

Idk, I just think these are genuinely major improvements over the worst of Showgirl. Take out Wood, AR, Cancelled!, Eldest Daughter and plug these in and Showgirl is every bit as good as Lover IMO.

There's just too much social incentive to have a scathing take about Taylor. That even applies to the publications that want their **** to be read like Pitchfork. I think she's become too big to step back from and look at objectively in nearly every sense. That applies to diehard fans, too. Sorta miss when we were a small family business when she was merely the biggest female artist of the century rather than all-time.
