I liked all four songs and the Cleveland! hate is already forced. Best song of the four is Pink Clouding.

like at the end of the day i'm confused why we're treating some swifties like they're OTH? most of us have spent hundreds (or thousands) of dollars on taylor, know every secret message for each song and have been loving her since her musical peak. we're allowed to be upset and share opinions in the only literal swiftie safe space on this website. sure some critiques are too far but can we please beat the cult allegations…

facts are, she is on a musical LOW with showgirl, we all know that and some can cope all they want. you all know that though, before the deluxe this base was just back-to-back showgirl lashings. i understand some people want to see taypositivity in here since it's negative everywhere else but this era is affecting swifties too, and she just had to drag it on a year later.

yes, we love her miserable music, but we also do love her love songs, just not these ones. i'm yet to see something even close to cornelia street or state of grace. hell even TTPD title track is so intimate it makes us believe matty is the love of her life, and he dated her for a month… these songs about her husband are literally just 'me famous, me happy, travis big d*ck, travis podcast, travis football!' and don't get me wrong i love a lot of songs on TLOAS, but most people don't, and a lot of swifties don't, and you can tell why

the people in this base will not mock her for everything, the people on the other threads will. but right now she is just making it too easy for longtime fans of hers to get fatigue. and why are some people in here so mad that we want good albums, like yes we can go listen to evermore, but we would also like good new music. is that crazy?

i had a quick look through the album thread and it's so negative in there, so i just left my quick thoughts and dipped. i don't really see myself engaging much in there tbh.

i love the new tracks so much, especially "cleveland!" the melody and instrumental just make me so happy. i can already see myself playing it so much that it'll end up being my most played song of the year lol.

the way she sings "would you even call that dancing?" scratches an itch in my brain. i love her voice so much! i need to sleep now, but i can't wait to wake up and listen to these songs again.

no girl that's everybody's opinion and the general consensus about showgirl. just scroll back a few pages and you can see showgirl in the bottom of everybody's rankings. if anything i love it more than most people here lol, eldest daughter is my favourite album track and i can still acknowledge that it's horrible

I don't know what OTH means hahaha (to me it means One Tree Hill). I agree with you that we shouldn't shush any fan or any regular listener. we all have different opinions and we should be able to say them and discuss. it's actually fun to have discussions. I think my issue is with the verbiage the haters use. and some swifties as well. I didn't mean to gerneralize all the swifties. i've been a swiftie since the Speak Now era. we've been through a lot of hate. in recent years it's become so tiring to talk about the music or Taylor because everyone's on the defense of their take and it turns into attacking anyone who you disagree with.

I'm watching Cleveland reactions now and the swifties who hate it of course trashing it, which is fine, hate it. but this "is this the same woman who wrote TTPD?" yes, it is. you just don't like that. it doesn't mean she lost her skill. ttpd happened 2 years ago. they want only a certain version of Taylor. I HATE the glitter gel pen songs before Travis. hate them! but I don't understand the "we feel the need to trash showgirl because we like her previous work" it doesn't need to go hand in hand.

I love Showgirl. it's still my most streamed album each month since it's release. but i'm kinda don't wanna say because swifties will **** on me for loving it. it happened to me a few times. and I was like, so what, I can't like the album without you mocking me? I think mostly what bothers me is the way we discuss her and the music. I hate Midnights. I skip every song on it except lavender haze, WCS and Glitch. I don't like her work with Jack. i'm so tired of it but I know they will work together forever.

Ok, I have had enough downtime in my shift to listen to the 4 songs two times now.

1.Babylon has my favorite lyrics and melody of the new songs. So good.

2.Patient Zero is actually pretty damn good, but that bridge is driving me nuts. Too wordy and speaky. Let's see if the bridge grows on me.

3 and 4. Pink Clouding and Cleveland! Sound pretty good to my ear. Cleveland! Lyrics are the most whatevs of the four so I rank it last.

I am sure things will flip around later.

Patient Zero has the catchiest pre-chorus/chorus, so i think they chose correctly on picking it as a single.

i certainly don't think she lost her skill, she's making different types of music and writing about different topics right now. but personally, i think she's holding a lot of anger right now and it doesn't come off well in her writing, and i think she is too focused discussing the PR angle of travis rather than the actual love like she did previously.

at the end of the day we all like different things, like i am such a fan of her work with jack meanwhile im sure you'd hate it if he was even in the same studio as her lmaoo. i think a lot of swifties have felt disconnected during this era and the general consensus is that it is one of her worst works, and 4 extra songs will not change that. but you can always share your opinions here, and i truly would love to hear your perspective on what you enjoy about it and what you don't! and what you hate about midnights and what you like about it! we're the biggest fandom and her large catalogue should prompt so many open discussions

Tell me about it. Many Swifties have such rigid expectations about what her songs SHOULD be instead of just appreciating them for what they are. I really like all 4 songs, Pink Clouding is indeed a big bop and i'm obsessed with Babylon already.

Patient zero - I was ambivalent about this song - I like some of the melodies, but the bridge is a ME!ss

Cleveland! - I appreciate the sentiment in some of the lyrics… but girl, THE EXECUTION. Like, eldest daughter is a misunderstood abstract masterpiece compared to this. What kills this song melodically is the way she draaaags some words while singing

Pink Clouding - This is a mini pop perfection moment. I love her vocal deliveries and the arrangement here
