"ruin the friendship" is quintessential taylor tbqh. the melody, lyrics and storytelling are all immaculate. i hope she adds it to future set lists.

imagine a bonus track being one of the best songs of your career. i can totally see why she has such a dedicated second fan base, because she's truly been standing on everybody's necks for years.

also this might be tmi but idc, i'm currently on my period and when i was listening to "cleveland!" last night it made me cry lmao! i need to find myself my own travis asap!

"the life of a showgirl" has been hitting so hard lately. i can't stop listening to it. the way she sings "but you don't know the life of a showgirl babe, and you're never ever gonna" in that whispery tone scratches an itch i wasn't aware i had! oh mother!

i have every taylor song added to a giant playlist so that i can put them on shuffle when i'm not in the mood for a particular album and i just want to be surprised and i just got "bigger than the whole sky" followed by "today was a fairytale" followed by "right where you left me"

i just think the writing has fell off and it's became a parody of itself at this point but hopefully you enjoy it more than i did! i sound like an atrl'r talking about the life of a showgirl…

also @dman4life i don't know if you saw earlier, but i mentioned that somebody with a britney avatar shaded taylor's vocals and it made me laugh because of the lack of self awareness. but i don't want you to be offended by that since i see that you also have a britney avatar. i just know that she often got made fun of for lip-syncing during her live performances, so you'd think a fan of hers wouldn't use vocal ability as a drag against another artist. that said, it was petty and childish of me and i shouldn't have given that user the time of day. i've seen that they're still posting about her today in almost every taylor thread and i shouldn't have lowered myself to their level. so it's all love from my end and i'm sorry if you did see my comment and took any offense! <3

it's just so so so good! the whole "keep it one hundred…" part of the song is so ridiculously catchy. her ear for melodies should be studied. i remember when the album first dropped and it took me so long to get to "elizabeth taylor" as i couldn't stop replaying "the fate of ophelia"

i see it getting bashed a lot but "eldest daughter" is one of my favorites from the album. i just love the melody in the chorus so much + that gorgeous bridge and it will stay in my head for days if i listen to it even just once. i also don't think the lyrics are as bad as people make out. i'm only iffy on the "and we looked fire" line but thankfully she only says that once throughout the whole thing! lol "ruin the friendship" is another great song though. it's very red-coded and the plot twist made my jaw drop when i heard it for the first time.

i'm sorry but "the fate of ophelia" is one of the best songs she's ever released. it's quite literally the perfect pop song. everything from the lyrics to the production and melody is just 10/10. past her prime my ass when she still has songs like that in her.

i love all four of the new songs and like with all of her previous releases my favorite track keeps changing. yesterday i was absolutely obsessed with "cleveland!" and pretty much had it on repeat for the entire day and today i've woken up with such an itch in the back of my brain for "patient zero" i don't speak for every swiftie but i am legitimately enjoying all of the new songs + i've just been listening to the life of a showgirl as a whole again and i've been having a total blast! 🤷🏼‍♀️
