Exactly. Even massive smash Choosin Texas has only 500 million streams on Spotify, mostly from US

She's doing the defining album for your 30s like she did with Red for her 20s

folklore was hardly a guaranteed smash and we've just had the hit chasing album that everyone seems to be mad at, idk if it will be country (tho i think IKI,IKY is a sign that it'll be really good if it is) but i can imagine that it's time for her to take a bit of a left turn

But she released folklore and evermore it a time when disco pop was all the rage. And she got more global attention for these two albums than for some of her pop ones.

Shes the biggest artist in the world, and she started out country and made country music popular across the globe. If someone can do it, she can.

I think it's time for Taylor to take a bit of a left turn and surprise everyone. Her best efforts are always when she goes against the grain (RED, 1989, Folklore)

I still don't think she'll say, "I'm going back to country as if nothing happened"; she'll probably make a country album, but with strong rock influences something country-pop (ala Shania Twain) and heavily country-folk, in the style of "Betty," "Cowboy Like Me," and "Dear John."

I can see an album that is entirely country but features diverse influences:

• 6 pure country tracks

• 6 country-rock tracks

• 6 country-pop tracks

• 6 country-folk tracks

• 2 country tracks with dance-pop/disco undertones

Total: 26 tracks, split into a first part of 13 tracks and a second part of 13 tracks. The chosen subgenres span the various albums of her career while remaining within the country style.

Furthermore, the huge success of Ophelia and Opalite, along with the solid performance of IKYIKI, might finally prompt her to release two singles ahead of the album ideally a big upbeat track followed by a slow song or ballad. I'd really love for her to finally score a major hit with a ballad, as that style really showcases her lyrics. I'd like the single rollout to begin in May 2027 and continue in September 2027, with the album dropping in November 2027; this would leave space for a third single in January a quieter, less competitive time for the charts while still capitalizing on strong Christmas sales for the album.

IMO she really has nothing left to gun for aside from the Hot 100 number 1s record, and prerelease singles for 2 studio albums would all but guarantee it, especially when you remember that she'll probably pick up at least 2 number 1 singles in the USA from Debut 20 (I'd Lie is RIGHT there. Massive USA country smash and she can always use physicals to push it over the finish line if needed) and rep 10.

Unfortunately I think Showgirl opening with 4 million will be a more important data point in her eyes and she'll continue justifying the rollout that led to her shattering her own enormous first week sales record 4 times in 4 years.

Yeah, I mean charts aside, the revenue generated from 4 million albums is probably too great to ignore. When you consider that there's a risk that the charts will become less meaningful the further we get from mono-cultural events, she could go either way (valuing the historic achievement vs valuing getting as many people to tune in during one week to maximize sales and cultural impact)

I'd agree if it wasn't for the possibility that TS13 could become the biggest global female debut of all time, Showgirl was 300k short if I remember correctly.

I also wouldn't mind if her biggest debut was for an album I could truly get behind… And it being the 13th for symbolic reasons.

Do we even find it possible that TS13 could outsell Showgirl's first week? Showgirl felt like the perfect storm, and the mixed response to it might lead to lower pure sales next time. But you never know with Taylor… The streams won't drop one bit though, everyone will tune in again.

I don't really see Taylor topping Showgirl given she was coming off a lot of goodwill from the Eras Tour and the Travis engagement… plus it was branded her big return to Max Martin pop… if she's hungry for numbers then a pure country pop album probably won't be able to match Showgirl.

I could see a double album happening. 13 country/rock songs. 13 pop songs - basically acting as a mass retrospective of every sound she's ever touched but fine-tuned to perfection.

I'd be perfectly happy with a long record if the quality is there from start to finish.

I really don't want her to attempt to top Showgirl's album opening numbers. The amount of tactics she would have to pull to even come close is just not worth it

Not yall being a little delulu. Taylor is always hyper focused on album sales. There's no chance we're getting a pre album lead. And yes she will be aiming to break all sorts of records with TS13, both US and global, not matter how many variants it takes.
