i went to whataburger to get something to eat for lunch like I do every week and one of the workers remembered my face. I always give fake names at these places (as one should) but she said I remember you from the other day you must like our food huh

 

i don't feel safe anymore. It's supposed to be my happy place

The 38 year old aged twink barista at my workplace knows my name and always tries to flirt with me despite knowing I've been in a committed relationship for nearly eight months  

don't worry girl when i lived in my uni city I visited a street-food van when i was about 21 to get some pizza fries. visited again 3 years later bc i was craving those same pizza fries and the guy was like 'do you want a loyalty card?? ill put an extra stamp on it for when you was here last time too' like what kind of ******* photographic memory-

no i think they were calling me a fatty

I used to frequent an Armenian BBQ stand when I used to live in Los Angeles. I went there so many times that the worker there (who was a cutie) eventually recognized my face and order.

No I almost never eat out

When I worked at Starbucks back in the day, they made us remember the frequent visitors and get to know them. 

 

Sometimes the coffee shop remembers me and pre-makes my order before I even go up to the counter. 
 

I don't really like it though. 

This has never happened to me personally no, but as someone who has previously worked in the food/restaurant industry, you do pick up on familiar faces, especially if you're frequenting said place once a week. Regulars are way more noticeable in a quieter restaurant, sure, but I worked in a restaurant for one of the worlds largest theme parks and even considering the amount of tourists that came in and out on a daily basis, certain locals would still come in like once a week and all the staff knew who they were.

 

Speaking for myself, the recognition is usually meant in a kind way, not you make you feel bad or guilty for coming back in to eat.

I frequent a lot of the restaurants in my neighborhood so several restaurant folk know me and my typical order haha 

Yes, my man loooves eating out, so there is a handful of restaurants we frequent in our area and the workers are always like, "Welcome back! Good to see you! " which is actually very sweet, but we tip well, so...! 

At Smoothie King; they know my name and vehicle. I always place online orders, virtually everyday, and I don't even have to say I'm there to pick up. Before I even say anything, "You can go ahead and just drive around." 😂

There was a coffee shop where I used to work in Melbourne and the barista knew my name and regular order. He was cute too although engaged to a woman. 

 

 

Isn't it extremely normal if you're a regular? 

I don't think so since I normally do delivery and my local hungry jacks has a different worker each time since I don't have junk food regularly anymore

 

come to think of it I don't think i've ever seen the same person twice

what's with these persistent old gays that keep bothering you as if you're gonna say yes eventually 

i used to live above a mcdonalds and i would get a coke there like almost daily for quite a while

 

whenever the workers saw me, they'd immediately turn to the machine to get it. one even told me so, whenever i see you i immediately make you your coke.

 

i moved away and never said bye. i wonder if they ever thought of me and my addiction

There should be a law banning restaurants and coffee shops from asking the customer's name. 

There's usually one at the places I regularly go to who recognize me. I really like it since they see me coming and already have my order ready for pickup without me having to wait and tell them who I am especially if there's a lot of people since I always order ahead.

most my regular coffee & lunch bistros  know my face but not my name. which is weird bc i tip well. 

I had this at a burrito place once where they recognised me and remembered my order and I never went back 

Girl, they know me at several coffee shops, the pharmacy, the gas station down the road, my local supermarket, even multiple libraries.
